4GATS

Today’s deck is The Labyrinth Tarot.

I really love its aesthetic, so much so that it’s a shame it’s one of those where the minor arcana don’t have their own illustrations.

Today’s reading has portents of new things being born/produced that will allow me to follow through with the drive to work and a balance to work easier which MAN I sure hope so.

Also fun fact: Back in Venezuela one of the words we use to indicate “insufferable struggle” is “parir”, literally “giving birth”. I bring it up because one of the things with The Empress’ imagery is that she’s pregnant to indicate fertility and the birth/nurturing of new things, so it showing up in relation to my current struggles is a funny bit of nuance.

Day started as a fucking rollercoaster…

I get woken up by my phone vibrating, my landlady wanted to show me a unit that was just being vacated. I set up to meet with her at 1PM.

I was already up so I go to make some transfers AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND our company account is blocked again.

In that moment I immediately thought about how happy I’d be paying 50% of our assets in taxes if it meant never ever having to deal with this bullshit ever again.

It turned into 1PM so I went to check the proposed new office. It was in the same building but on the top floor which isn’t just nicer looking but it’s also quieter compared to all the NOISE of the street level (and the unit having very bad noise insulation).

Apparently, the earlier tenant was someone whose visa (student visa plus nighttime work shift if I remember right) lapsed. The irony of it doesn’t escape me, but also their AC works so next monday I’ll be signing the papers.

I’ll officially have a new office, or considering the emotional baggage of my old place: an actual office.

I’ll be able to move all the tax papers out of my shoes closet so I can actually put my shoes in the shoes closet…

From there I went to the post office because turns out that to receive money from overseas in my personal account I have to register my My Number card with them.

Also turns out my My Number expired so me going to the ward office earlier in the week immediately justified itself.

I couldn’t finish the process, but they gave me the form so I can literally just return with the form in hand and my new card to fix that.

THEN it was off to Japanese lesson with my ass.

I returned home and V was out and about at Game Centers (a luxury of this country if I’ve ever heard of one) so I took the chance to uh… *checks notes*, sit down for like five minutes at least.

I was feeling like having Yakiniku for dinner so I go to make a reservation on the Ajiyoshi in Sennichimae but according to Google Maps it’s closed? I don’t remember that and it’s gonna bother me until I personally check if that’s the case.

I know that the Ajiyoshi that was in front of the Genroku Sushi I always go to closed, but no idea about this one.

We went to an All You Can Eat spot, it was FINE but not exactly the best meat I’ve had… HOWEVER, extra points for serving the wagyu beef in a multi-tiered tray shaped like Osaka castle but gold.

Afterwards Evil wasn’t open so we went to Osaka’s Touhou Bar and not only did the owner remember us, but the one foreigner we knew happened to be there.

The owner was like “March of this year? It feels like way earlier” and I couldn’t explain better how WEIRD this year has felt. Like it’s at once passed too fast and not fast enough.

That bar has a mix of samples of anime openings that also indicates the year that each anime came out and reminding me that the Himouto Umaru-chan anime is ten years old should be classified as psychological warfare.

One drink later we went to Evil and much fun was had.

Overall, a very welcome distraction from… Everything Else.
