Today’s deck is the Universal Celtic Tarot.

I’m not well-versed enough in Celtic stuff to have an opinion on that front, but I do have some books on queue about it… just don’t pay any mind to the fact that my interest is tied to Mabinogi.
Today’s reading is talking about how frustrations about not accomplishing things must be fought with patience and mindfulness.

I woke up super late today so I had to start acting on the bank appointment I had immediately… then I noticed I forgot to charge my camera so the plan of going to a beach as a treat afterwards flew out the window.
As I’m downing a singular slice of bread to not leave with an empty stomach I double check which train to take and notice that there was a warning that the train to Kobe was delayed due to someone falling onto the tracks.
I decide then and there that FINE, I’ll splurge on a cab to the bank since it’s half an hour by car… and then the traffic was hell.
As I’m sitting there fighting a bit of motion sickness (usually from not enough air reaching me) I’m thinking “with my luck I’m spending all this taxi money and I’ll arrive when the bank just closed”.
But I finally make it to Ashiya and… the taxi left me at the wrong station. It’s not the fault of the cab mind you, basically I told the app to leave me near Ashiya Station and didn’t double check that it was JR Ashiya. The result is that I had to walk like 15 more minutes and the concern of arriving after the bank closed turned into DETERMINATION that I wouldn’t let that happen.
But I made it in time, I landed in the bank. I request… oh right, so the reason I’m making the trip at all is twofold: The first is that for reasons known only to lord-knows-who, the bank started only allowing people to see up to three months before in the bank history online; and the second was that when I went to the branch closer to home in Umeda they told me they’d mail it to my office in like a week so I assumed that going to the main branch would avoid this. After all, I did go in Winter (though in that case the history requested was one year) and they gave me the papers then and there.
So I fill the dang papers, write ungodly runes like 株式会社 and 代表取締役, wait for the result…. and they’re gonna send it to my office in about a week.
Shockingly, I wasn’t even mad. This was my plan today and I did accomplish it even if the result was frustrating.
Further plans for a treat of some sort were cut short because I got emails requesting extra papers for my visa, and when I try to tune out on the way back with Spotify or something I discover that Field Of View’s Kawaita Sakebi got removed and replaced with some more recent cover they apparently just released.
And so I entertained myself on the way back shopping for CDs with the songs I listen to the most in my ongoing effort to weane myself out of subscription services. Not like I’m unaware of all the moral problems with those services but I tend to pick my fights instead of trying to collect reasons to be angry at things.
Love you all who are angry about things and fighting for those causes, I will never step on your toes or tell you you’re wrong. I just got other concerns I’d rather prioritize in my life.
And well, storefronts like itunes and services like spotify are increasingly scant in their selections. And normally it’d be one thing if it was about semi-obscure songs, like, later in the day I was looking if any had Kitto Zutto by Mariko Kouda (Twin Bee RPG’s opening theme) and nobody did which is understandable-if-annoying. But when songs I know for a fact were already in the service are taken down or in some cases unavailable for God Knows Why, well…
That’s a song that’s not too hard to pirate, but I want to buy the CDs if possible. Not because I’m supporting the artist because in these cases it’s often out-of-print CDs sold used anyways. But rather because I like the idea of being one extra link in case the usual pirating options get hit as they’ve often been.
Valve once said something to the effect that Piracy is about availability and honestly that statement had legs even back in Venezuela. The reason I got an R4 back in the day wasn’t because I wanted all free games I could get. I was happy with getting like two games a year as presents… but the games I wanted (from The World Ends With You to Devil Survivor) just weren’t being imported so a flash cart was the only option I had to get them.
Back to reality, after answering all the emails with paperwork I surmised I had to Treat Myself, so first in the docket was assembling the new doll I had in mind.

This is Aurora.

And this is Aurora with her daughters.
I didn’t know the wig had a wolf cut but man it fits her well.

So I dressed her up and decided to go to the Sky Building as I had intended ages ago.

The visit to the Sky Building was fun but the problem is that I couldn’t take photos with Aurora because there weren’t any stable vantage points where I could prop her even in sitting position.
Also it’s kinda lame that the Sky Building doesn’t have any commemorative coins or anything similar. Only Romance Locks or whatever they’re called.

I had KFC on the way back and then returned home. I changed Aurora’s underwear into a swisuit and figured I’ll try again tomorrow.
