Today’s deck is the Quirky Creatives Tarot.

I will admit the title gave me a very visceral reaction, but I was delightfully surprised by how charming it is. And how readable too, the simpler style does wonders in giving it strong shapes.
Today’s reading is made out of a bunch of cards that fell and it feels like it’s saying that Succor From All The Bullshit will come.
Man I sure hope so.

A topic that has come up a lot with N in the past is the idea of how futile it is to save stuff “for the right time”. The ropic has kinda broadened into things like treating toys like commodities or not playing with TCG cards, but I agree with the spirit regardless.
And I’m reminded of that today because I’ve been clearing up a cupboard and dear God there’s so many expired snacks.
Now, I have a lactose allergy which means that while I can eat things like chocolate I can’t eat very much at once or else The Consequences hit me, so any chocolate-y snack is naturally gonna last a looooooooooong while.
But also, I can’t eat much sugar at once lest I feel sick… which is a blessing considering my dad has had sugar issues later in life.
Does any other language have an equivalent to “empalagar”? That’s the Spanish word for that weird feeling in your throat after you’ve had a lot of sugar. It’s also used when something is too saccharine in tone.
Also also, the door to the cupboard was blocked with STUFF for a while so…

Regardless, the REAL shock wasn’t seeing the amount of expired snacks, but realizing from WHEN are those snacks. A few of them were gifts from friends that I got in late 2022 or late 2023 but they still feel like last year.
Man, I haven’t met some people in a hot minute…
The rest of the cleanup is gonna be sorting unrelated stuff because for some reason past Fer thought it a good idea to put all the batteries and such in that cupboard.
I mean I know the reason, I understand the line of thinking that asshole was following convoluted as it was, but still.

Whether from the constant effort to undo the brain and body cobwebs or because the weather improved I did go on a slightly longer walk today even if all I did was go to Umeda and then back. I started this book about American comics after I finished Shadows in the Vineyard and I was pleasantly surprised at how it’s apparently gonna cover the actual history of comics as a whole.
My parents’ house has a bunch of collections of books that apprently were from subscription services my grandpa was on and one of them was on the history of comics. I constantly read bits and pieces of it and I was delighted to still recognize names like Little Orphan Annie, the… Katzenbanger Kids I think they were called? And The Yellow Kid.
…I also realized, like the title suggests, that “Little Orphan Annie” follows the same naming convention as anime like “Sorcerous Stabber Orphen” “Martian Succesor Nadeshico” and so on and I don’t know how to feel with this realization.
Also, didn’t she get adopted? How the fuck is she an orphan if so?
I do prefer the spanish title though “Anita la Huerfanita”, it rhymes, english doesn’t have enough rhyming, it makes me annoyed.

There’s some bank nonsense in the background, but I wanna end this post on a bright note so I’ll keep that aside.
