White Spring Ramune

Today’s deck is the Forest of Enchantment Tarot.

Pretty sure I’ve used decks by Lunaea Watherstone in the past, that’s a name that’s hard to mix up and kinda sticks with you.

The deck itself is really cool but it’s one of those that changes all names, thankfully the booklet offers very clear charts indicating what became what.

Today’s reading is interesting because it’s basically indicating how being charitable and making sure to be attentive of others is the key to my own emotional stability, which… yeah, I’m the kind that paradoxically is more calm when I can stress and fuss about friends. The worst period of my life was basically marked by someone that scorned me for caring at all.

Here’s today’s completely unrequited intrusive thought: What if Cotton Eye Joe and Jolene are the same person? Cotton Eye Jolene, the eldritch entity that comes to town like a midwinter storm, with men talking about them in their sleep like an omen of things to come. Making women think their men are being stolen so they lower their guard and they’re the ones taken instead.

Out of my half-asleep bullshit and into my half awake bullshit, I let myself sleep more than usual even if it meant throwing my sleep schedule in for a loop because I’ve been sleeping 6 hours at most before dragging myself out of bed.

I also woke up with my throat very sore again, but I distinctly remember shifting in bed and closing my mouth so I can at least confirm it’s SOMETHING with how I’m sleeping.

I also woke up with my left ear itching so there’s a non zero chance that the throat is just reflecting on something in the ear.

Stress is the biggest of bitches ’cause it’s a bitch while it’s happening and it’s a bitch AFTER it happens.

Anyway, I decided to take a walk today and I can actually show you what I meant a couple of days ago when I said that JR, Hankyu, and Hanshin are confusing.

In this photo you can see al three malls: Hanshin in the center, Hankyu in the left, and JR in the right.

Hopefully my ramblings about confusing which is which despite knowing which is which make more sense now.

By the JR one there’s a book store and they had some commemorative meishi cases with a really cool theme. Basically they have the colors of the different lines, of the trains to be more specific.

The train that goes from Kyoto to Kobe was predictable sold out but they still had some fun ones including one with the word “Urara”.

It’s not just “omg is that an Uma Musume reference” kicking in, the thing is that by now I had assumed that “Urara” was just some nonspecific word meant to evoke that general “bright, cutesy” vibe, maybe some thrice-separated “Ohlala” from the French that came in from the Meiji restoration or something.

But no, turns out it’s an honest to God kanji (麗ら). So it’s kinda like how swings (the kind in the park) are called Buranko or ブランコ and in my mind I assumed it was portuguese for white (Branco) and some Ramune-like scenario happened… but no, it’s actually 鞦韆 and like… yeah I wouldn’t write those kanji on a good day for good reasons, much less to describe a thing children play in.

For those curious, “Ramune” is a corruption of “Lemonade”, where the Japanese emulated the vaguely acidic flavor of the lemonade brought in by europeans unaware of lemons.

Rest of the day was spent playing Coal LLC. Driven as I am to Do Things, tomorrow is Monday and doing things will be inevitable.
