For victims of crime

Today’s deck is the Shadowscapes Tarot.

So I’ve had this deck and other size variants for so long that I was SHOCKED I haven’t used it before.

Today’s reading talks about how being positive requires effort, that even ignorant bliss needs you to put legwork in.

So here’s something interesting for you all.

In Venezuela we had this local saint of sorts, Dr Jose Gregorio Hernandez, a local doctor that actually died being hit by one of the first cars to be arrive in Caracas. Ever since then he’s had miracles attributed to him and petitions to canonize him as an actual saint went back and forth for DECADES.

He was a de facto saint, but not being a de juree saint meant that churches couldn’t really have his imagery around. And to give you an idea of how big of a deal he was locally, my dad’s middle name is Jose because my grandma is a devout believer in him.

Well, they actually finally canonized him. Not just him but also a local nun called Carmen Elena Rendiles.

It’s a big deal, even me not being as big a devout specifically got hyped when I learned that the whole thing finally passed.

Back into my own reality, I woke up going straight to the municipality to renew my insurance card. It was DULL, but then I figured you know what? I’m already here, let’s renew my My Number card.

For those not aware: My Number is basically a card with all of your personal tax information. I got one in like 2020 but I never really needed it. I put it in the same drawer where I keep old passports and I assumed it expired.

So uh… apparently it doesn’t.

I go to renew it and when I say I need a new card they assumed that I lost or damaged the old one. But I’m like hey, I’m already here, I can at least update the photo to a post-Gender Realization Fer.

I ended up waiting for like an hour just on this part of the process alone, and by the end I didn’t even get the new card, they gave me a form with a QR code in which I’ll upload a photo for it.

While walking on the way back I tried and predictably failed to try and get a debit card so I went to the post office (which is also the bank) to ask what the hell was going on, but they couldn’t tell me.

That siad, I did get an idea or two as to what the problem might be and if I’m right I’m gonna be So Mad.

V was meeting with her friend to play IIDX and I had emails to reply to, so I stayed behind. And in between answering stuff I did some cleaning and…

it might not be perfect and I’m letting my eyes rest so I can notice the missing spots better but DAMN if that’s not a nice amount of progress.
