Today’s deck is the Porcelain Tarot.

Okay I really, REALLY liked this one, from the colors to the style and all that.
I AM partial to dolls after all.
Today’s reading is advising against being reckless with regards to wanting to making right by all the financial balance… alternatively, it’s advising against fedposting about banks which is good advice too.

Well, I didn’t lose my foot while I was asleep. It WAS sore where I felt the crack though, so I’m assuming I indeed pinched a nerve.
Something I forgot to mention last post was the fact that the “perhaps I’ll lose my foot” comment wasn’t entirely a joke. I’ve got a bit of a hypochondriac streak that I’ve managed to keep in check just like my intrusive thoughts, but it flares up from time to time.
Did I believe I would legitimately lose my foot? No, but my mind wouldn’t push itself away from the sensation which is extra annoying when I’m literally half asleep.
I also slept like a motherfucker and woke up feeling sad, like the way one does after a bunch of weird dreams. Sad in that longing way, I probably dreamt I had a girlfriend or something in that vein.
Briefly back to the foot thing, E commented that if I was wary I could always try out Nerve Flossing which is a real legitimate thing that exist and I definitely will at some point but what a name man, what a fucking name.
My day wasn’t that exciting for better or worse. I did my usual walk to the hardware store and supermarket to catch a bit of sun, went to Yodobashi Camera for a bit but then returned.
Checking old tabs I found a google search of The Awakener Forgotten Oath. Dunno where I heard about it, but it’s fun! It says it’s a souls-like but it doesn’t have a stamina bar. The main gimmick is the fact that it’s basically an action game where each room rewards you with a passive, basic, or activated skill.
I wanna say it’s like Hades but I’d be talking out of my ass because I’ve never played Hades. It’s not for any deep reason, though. I just don’t vibe with Supergiant’s games.
Like, back in the day I played Bastion and Transistor and I knew they were good games that were really well made but I just… didn’t gel with them.
It’s kinda like how Utena is something I should really like on paper and yet I cannot stand.

Anyway, the game. Game good.
I will be pedantic that it’s more like Bayonetta than Dark Souls, though. It’s not any less cuhrayzeeh just because it doesn’t have a graded rank thing.
Also, “Souls-likes” tend to put more emphasis on stamina management, which is why I’m personally partial to “staminaction” over “soulsborne” or “soulsring” or whatever the fuck.
One last bit is that, as I often do if possible, I messed around with Cheat Engine. Mainly because the hot anime elf had a skimpy outfit and I wanted to try and cheat the amount of that currency. I also wanted to see the rest of the stages.
And a very curious detail I learned in the process is that the health value is saved in different memory addresses after each boss.

This isn’t anything particularly egregious development-wise, it’s probably just related to how it loads stages, but it’s VERY curious nonetheless.
