Junk Broken

Today’s deck is the Clay Arcana Tarot Cards.

It has this cutesy aesthetic ala Coraline and the like, really nice.

Today’s reading continues the general celebratory mood, with a specific undercurrent that this is all the first step into chasing all the creative stuff that’s been looming over me.

Today would usually be a day to celebrate… however, it’s rainy as heck.

I was slightly concerned about that, specifically remembering two years ago when there was a storm right on the day of full bloom and a LOT of flowers blew in the wind. Thankfully this just seems to be rain and nothing more.

I started the day finishing the Uma Musume blog post about Makibao. I’ve been meaning to write about it for like 2 years at the very least and I’m happy to finally have done so. And you know I like the manga because it made me go “I’m not gonna spoil shit, you should read it yourselves”.

After that was done, I posted a “battle report” about Worms.

I always talk about my dislike of the word “post-mortem”, and it’s not some philosophical matter like “I don’t like the implication that the project is dead”. It’s just the fact that when we started making games, our “generation” as it were, there was this weird thing where it felt like everyone speedran their career to be able to write a postmortem or have a GDC talk.

Shit like “I spent a lot of money on an office and machines and THEN decided what game to make. Anyways, here’s why the indie dev dream isn’t real”.

After I finished writing the Battle Report, I was chillin’ around and decided to go out with E to see some shops. Mainly used camera shops around Umeda.

Our first attempt was actually a 2nd Street but alas no cameras, just a run of the mill Geo. But after that we just went to the usual suspects and then had Okonomiyaki.

I spent the day gauging the reactions to the game and I’m so glad people resonated with it.

Like, I have enough confidence in my skills because people already react strongly to my Uma Musume posts, but it’s extra reassuring to see it happen on my dayjob as it were.

Weather stopped being ass briefly but it was already late.
