Today’s deck is The Wonder of Flat Tarot.

It’s super cute with a theme of pugs in collages. Really my only cvomplaint is that the name fries my brain for some reason. I keep reading it as “Flat Wonder” or “Wonder of Flat” and so on.
Today’s reading is advising to embrace the new cycle of things coming through.

Add one more for the “weather’s ASS today” counter.
The day actually started with me checking my schedule for who would be around for BitSummit.
I have my… opinions about the event. Nothing damning, just a lot of very Me problems. It’s an event for “smaller” games, but it’s not a doujinshi event, but it’s also not to the scale of something like TGS. It serves a very specific niche that tends to mainly be filled by foreigners since the idea of “indie games” is still novel in Japan.
The games it shows are cool, it’s also an excuse for people to visit which means a lot of my overseas friends visit.
See what I mean when I say it’s a Me Problem?
Honestly I’m sure 90% of it is that I’m not the biggest fan of Kyoto (too crammed with tourists for very little space) so there’s the mental barrier of “I finally go to Kyoto and I spend it inside an event venue”.
Anyway, funnily enough, the past two years the event has overlapped with my birthday, but this year one of the days overlaps with my singing recital. At least it didn’t overlap with the Nipponbashi Street Festa, perhaps there’s a chance I won’t forget it this time around.
Still made plans tho, so I’m looking forward to that.

As far as my day goes otherwise… so when I went to the Baki expo thing (not literally when I went, but the same day) I finished the book about the history of Salt I started ages ago since it only had like one hour left on it. Then after that I started When The Game Was War, a book about that one season where Jordan and Rodman were starting but Magic Johnson and the dude from Airplane were also there.
It’s fun, though when I got it I thought “wait, isn’t this that one netflix special that everyone talks about?” but nah, that’s a different thing.
Point being that the night flew as I listened to that while cleaning and sorting.

Honestly, it just felt good to have enough brainpower to enjoy an audiobook for a change.
