I need to stop singing Konya wa Hurricane whenever there’s a tropical storm coming. It’s amusing, it’s a banger, but I suspect I’m building a negative association I should avoid.
Today’s reading perfectly reflects the vibe of today of “I wanna do a thing, but I’m being held back by something, but I really wanna do it!”.

Woke up with my mind racing a million miles an hour about how to do the last priority thing I wanted to do on this trip.
Here’s how things go: I woke up at midday, they’re coming to pick up the luggage at 5PM, Meoto Iwa (where I wanna go) is about half an hour away. It’s also raining, not strongly (not yet at least), there’s also no wind, but if I’m gonna go out better do it now.
There’s also a kinda pragmatic reason for doing all of that: The next checkpoint of the day is 5PM so I better kill some time.

So umbrella in hand I head out. In theory this is the route I would’ve taken if I decided to go ahead fully with the Akari and Akane photos, and this walk is making me realize I did good in avoiding it.

Like, if I had decided to go through with it at any point during the trip where the idea popped up, the time investment would’ve been… unfeasible to say the least.
But I made it. What’s so important I ventured forth, you ask?
A love charm!

I needed to think about food, so I went through the rest of the temple and made it to Ise Sea Plaza, a spot that I didn’t get to last time I was in the area.
So I walked around and I actually saw a shop with knives so a couple are added to the collection.
I wasn’t feeling any of the offerings, and the one sashimi spot that caught my eye was closed for the day. I was still over one hour away from the mailman picking my stuff up, but between having leeway to finish packing up and the uncertainty of getting a cab (meaning: non zero chance of needing to walk back), I took the safe route and called it early before calling a cab.

Thankfully it arrived swiftly, giving me spare time to sort all the remaining stuff. I also arrived just in time for the phone’s warning system to blast out while I was listening to something else.
I was fine, though. The warning was specifically for the elderly and people at risk to evacuate if they lived in Landslide Zone.
I only have rice fields around though.
After the luggage was taken I was REALLY feeling like having sashimi, and I tend to listen to my cravings because I have such a low appetite that if my body is like “hey, let’s eat this” then who am I to say no.
One cab ride later and I get to an izakaya along the main street. Buncha ojajis watching TV, menu in Japanese, handwritten so they can cross off when something is no longer in stock…
This is gonna be good.

And it was! I ordered the sashimi and then I got a serving of assorted tempura.
From there I actually recognized the area so I decided to walk to the nearby lawson and wait for a cab there.
Damn it’s getting windier…
I’ve got supplies stocked up, at least. So if I gotta stay inside I’ll hopefully not be cursing the lack of food under my breath.

With how chaotic my sleep schedule has been I suspect I’ve got a bit of day ahead of me, but I’ll stop the entry here when I’m about to take a quick nap.
