Today’s deck is the Zillich Tarot.

Deck’s good, but the highlight for me is how the backs have the copyright but it’s both up and down. There’s so many licensed decks that shit the bed because they only keep the copyright on one side making them asymmetrical.
Today’s reading is about a bit I’d rather not talk about in public, but neddless to say was On Point.

The Friday routine has a variant of sorts today in that my sleep schedule is still a mess and as such I didn’t wake up in time for Japanese lesson.
I did go to bar, though. That was fun.
It was a kinda slow day so I ended up chatting with everyone at some point. A funny bit to bring up was talking about my rationale with how visual a visual novel should be.
One example I always bring up that… to be fair it’s been at least 12 years so I’m not entirely sure how precise it might and how much I’m misremembering but is still worth pointing out. ANYWAY, I believe it was some scene in Nekopara where the narrator talks about the phone ringing and then the phone rings or something like that.
What the order of factors is and even the game itself is irrelevant, what’s important is the idea behind the memory false or otherwise.
A narrator in a visual feels like a crutch when it feels like you grabbed something that could’ve been a book, but really shines when it works in parallel with the audio and visuals.
So instead of playing a phone sound and then the narrator saying “and then I picked up the phone”, one should strive for something like the sound playing and then the narrator saying that the phone surprised them or that they weren’t expecting calls. Basically use the narrator to further what the audio delivered instead of being a redundant matter.

I’ve had this problem with a bunch of games, porn or otherwise. Where it’s like they make the whole without one of the elements (eg: sprites) and then plug them in after the fact but only in a very limited amount of spots. You can actually tell a difference compared to a game made by an illustrator or with an illustrator on board, since everything is designed around what they can or can’t do themselves.
This is me expanding the point after the fact, I didn’t go into THAT much detail at the moment.
I also did tarot readings for everyone, which was fun. One of the highlights was one reading that had the cast member clearly intrigued and I explain “Yeah, so imagine for example that your family suddenly says they wanna meet up with you and you’re kinda suspicious like ‘what do they want from me now?’”.
She gives me A Look and then goes “My mom is visiting later in the month” and I’m there like whatthefuckwhatthefuckwhatthefuckwhatthefuckwhatthefuckwhatthefuck.
The mood was relaxed, I had nothing else to do, and also I woke up late enough that I had energy so I stayed until closing time. THANKFULLY I wasn’t drunk to the point of not remembering things.
I’m partially wondering still about drinking a couple strong drinks (as opposed to lately where I just have a few well-paced slightly soft drinks) and see if I still have the thing where my face grows numb, just because I’m worried that the incident where I don’t remember anything flipped off something and now my drunkness measures changed.
Like, it might just be me getting spooked into being extra responsible (not that I wasn’t before, mind you) but WHO KNOWS. I ain’t testing that on my own, though.

The weekly bar visits have been a boon to my mood, though. Turns out being social like that helps not getting cabin fever, what are the chances!
