Today’s deck is the Van Gogh Tarot.
Interestingly, this one is more a bunch of cards drawn to look like The Starry Night. Sure, they have the yellow and blue predominance from that period of Van Gogh’s work, but the hatcheting is mainly a Starry Night thing.
As project stuff has been on my mind lately, today’s reading is reminding me that some disagreeing is natural and not the end of the world.
Something I didn’t bring up yesterday but that was in my mind while writing about the game was that I don’t usually see “this product as a sample of things to come” being brought up much in media analysis.
Now, saying that is a monkey’s paw if there’s ever been one. That’s basically asking simultaneously for people to jump to a lot of conclusions about an author AND asking for shit to get really parasocial, all at once no less.
Like uh… I’ve been following Fantasy Game and seeing them improve bit by bit is something that has had me invested, but I also think about one time where I saw a video of the dude that made Pony Island and Inscription and there was so much glazing that I had to tab out.
Then again, I go out of my way to not be eulogized as an author so…
I didn’t bring it all up, because believe it or not I do want my asides and sidenotes to be able to circle back to the main point and that one would’ve been too tricky to do that with. Especially when the conclusion is “I kinda want this but the alternative makes my skin crawl and it’s the sort of thing that gives me literal nightmares.”.
ANYWAY, my sleep schedule is still hell. I’ve also been waking up with headaches that are sorta kinda like the headaches I had when I didn’t use glasses. It’s not the worst thing ever but it definitely has me wondering what the hell I might be doing to get them.
They’re not concerning, I’ve woken up with worse headaches in winter from dry rooms, but I’m like “hmmm I wonder why I’m getting this…”.
I needed food and also shake the cobwebs out, so I went to Umeda. I was making my way to Ikinari Steak but then remembered the gyukatsu place I fould a while ago.
After the meal I went to Loft, but they were already closing. I did notice, however, that they’re selling Hobonichis that start in July.
I’ve been of the mind of being like “I’mma fill things from February even if it takes me a while”, but it ocurred to me today to do something funny.
I’m gonna get one of those that start in July, but also, I’m gonna seal the current one.
“Seal?” You ask? Think of a cursed item, the sort of thing where if it’s opened evil will be unleashed for 52 episodes.
My rationale is that if I dispose of the old incomplete journal the curse will come back. The journal carries the February Curse so it must be contained.
I’ve got a couple of funny ideas, but that’s for later.
