Leaving the ghosts behind.
Today’s reading compliments the other readings as of late by saying basically “hey, it’s fine to do something else if things really feel that badly stuck”
First thing I did was move my luggage to the lobby because dear God this hotel isn’t exactly good with the whole accessability thing.
My flight was at around 11AM so I faffed about until 9AM and left for the airport, leaving the bags to be picked up later.
Now, I already knew the airport was small, but hanging around in it instead of immediately leaving really made me realize exactly how tiny it was. It was tiny enough that security doesn’t open unless there’s a flight waiting because there’s only one flight they make.
It was also the place where all the souvenirs were at for some reason. Buying shirts has become a bit of a tradition during trips this year and I only found them at the airport and nowhere else.
Thankfully my backpack was light.
The time arrives comes and I take the flight and I swear to God it was way faster today for some reason. Not just the takeoff and such, it feels like the flight itself went by in like half the time.
I go straight from the airport to the Shinkansen station and I have an hour-ish to spare still. I didn’t have a seat neighbor this time and the ride flew by just by continuing my reread of Baki.
Despite all the logistical challenges, I think this trip was a success, if anything I learned a lesson or two about what to keep in mind if the taxi apps aren’t available. I also got to do some extra testing with the new camera.
September is TGS month so there won’t be any crazy trips, but wherever I decide to go in October (if anywhere at all) better be somewhere without planes involved…
I then spent the rest of the day dissociating. I was playing an incremental game called Orb of Creation when I left and it’s pretty good! I managed to finish the first loop before going to bed.
