Today’s deck is the Tarot of Baseball.
I’ve never been much of a sportsball person. You’d think I’d be more into baseball considering Top Baseball Players is one of those exports Venezuela had before said exports also included delinquency. But the thing is that it feels like either my generation or the area I grew in was more concerned with soccer to an… annoying degree.
Bunch of guys that would make homophobic jokes one moment and talk about shoes and hairstyles the next because they all wanted to be like Arriaga, or Arriaga 2, or Barriaga, or Arugia, or Pisotta, or whoever else.
Baseball teams consistently making it to the world cup and everyone was always obsessed with the soccer team failing to make it to the world cup for the upteenth time.
I blame the fact that the Korea Japan 2002 cup was legitimately rad as all hell and gave us one of the best Da Pump songs to ever exist.
Not even my hater ass is immune to DRAGON SCREAMER.
Anyway what was I talking about? Oh right the deck. It’s fine, it’s well thought out, it feels very sincere in its novelty.
It even has an honest to God field for a spread.
By the way, today’s mat is the oldest one I have, I remember I got it when I got into Wixoss in like 2019. You can tell because the edges are a bit frayed despite the low use. I remember I tried streaming myself opening Digimon TCG packs with it ages ago.
Streaming casually is one of those things on the list of to-dos.
As far as today’s reading goes, here’s a fun question: If The World is the ultimate goal incarnate, what would a Reversed World mean? The immediate reaction would be to say that the goal is not achievable, but otherwise The World wouldn’t even be in view. To me, The World upright means you’re there while The World Reverse means you have the objective in sight.
This leaves the question: Is the spread talking about what’s on the way of that goal or what I can do to finally achieve it? Considering both derived cards are upright, it’s probably the latter. In fact, they speak clearly on that front.
The Seven of Cups represents having an array of choices, but the traditional depiction makes a point to have cups filled with dangerous things to convey the idea that just because you have an array of choices it doesn’t mean they’re all good. So how do you pick? With a good dose of self-control according to the remaining card.
There’s plenty of things this could apply to but honestly for me it’s probably reminding me of all the things I have on the verge of completing and that I should just focus on one.
And you know what? I should.
I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this, but these reading have become a highlight of my routine, I actually make sure to not overdo it with too much Tarot on the day so as to go through the interest slowly instead of burning it all up in one go as it were.
By the way, I mentioned it briefly yesterday but the spread that I’ve been doing most often by now it’s this one. It’s like a one-card spread but one card “emanates” into two that elaborate on what the card is supposed to mean. The one to the right is the “ideal” version because the second tier then emanates into three cards total and the fact that one of them is going to overlap with the two is always interesting to thing about.
Nowadays I call it the Emanation Spread. I used to call it the Ein Sof spread but I got my mystical stuff mixed up because if it was actually Ei Sof Aur-based it would be an inverted triangle.
I think it was something Plato-related that I was thinking about instead…
Mood’s been better today, I also slept a LOT. First I slept like 4 hours and I was about to get up but I just didn’t have the energy so I laid spinning around in bed for like an hour until I fell asleep again.
Anyway, today I FINALLY managed to catch a singing lesson after god knows how long, I think I haven’t gone since before starting this blog.
The way the lessons work is that I bring a melody sheet for a song and then practice with that song, the idea is that the teacher can go back and forth on sections that seem to have issue or where I feel like I have issue.
I picked Kawaita Sakebi (YGO Season 0’s opening which I actually found by chance before knowing the connection) thinking “oh the range is normal to me, that will be a good way to de-rust”.
I completely forgot that before I stopped being able to go for a bit I was practicing going from lower to higher notes without dying and this song has a few of those moments.
I was shockingly less rusty that I thought though.
I dropped by Kasuga-tei in Nipponbashi for a late lunch and then bought a few doll clothes at the nearby Dolk shop. I always wonder if it’s meant to be “Doll-kei” or like “Dolce”.
All throughout I was actually testing a new phone I got. Instead of getting an iPhone 16 whenever those stocked back up, I got an Xperia 1 VI, more specifically I had enough points in Yodobashi Camera to chop off like a third of the price tag and figured I might as well.
Why the fuck does this slideshow show up so small.
Listen, I might have a myriad problems with Apple both as a company and in their products, but cameras sure ain’t one of them… still tho holy shit the quality of the Xperia is nuts.
The zoom is also wild (been trying out a bunch of the stuff wordpress can do, as you can tell).
The problem with the Xperia is that compared to say… the Google Pixel phones it comes with way too much bloatware. Its “Game Booster” or however it’s called made games actually slow and also I’ve been going through the second Titan Sinking audiobook and I swear to god trying to play Ekimemo while listening to it made the audiobook skip around like the audible app was overlapping it or something.
Oh yeah speaking of Ekimemo.
I pulled this girl, she’s called Francisca Tequila and she’s dressed like a mariachi. She’s also my type to “howling like I’m in a Tex Avery cartoon” levels.
No deeper point here. Moving on.
When I got back home I saw that my Warhammer Plus subscription auto-renewed, which means that it’s been officially 3 years since I became an addict got into it.
Warhammer means a lot to me not just because I enjoy it, but because I got into it at the tail end of 2021, I was still trying to figure out who the hell I was after having my ego shattered to pieces and the first step at that specific stage of things felt like “Trying out something because it piques my curiosity rather than because I want a desperate conversation piece with someone else”.
Even dolls and photography were things that C suggested or mentioned that I just got really into down the line. Warhammer was like… “I’m giving this a try despite not knowing anyone else that’s into it”.
Then turned out E was into it, but I didn’t know at that time.
But yeah, Warhammer in general has been a key piece in finding the pieces of myself worth salvaging. and using to rebuild myself. It helps that it’s full of books where, I’ll be damned, I can safely say MOST of them are worth my money.
There’s no much novelty today otherwise though, mostly for the better.
OH, RIGHT! The other day I talked about silicone dolls and how one of them has an interesting story. So… you know how there’s bootleg anime figures? Some manufacturers have been making bootlegs that turn figures into 1/3 silicone dolls with onaholes integrated.
So here’s an example: There’s this figure, it was a low run figure by BINDing based on an OC series called “The socially awkward Yuki-onna widow and the cursed ring” (人付き合いが苦手な未亡人の雪女さんと呪いの指輪).
So someone goes, makes a mold like the face, attaches it to a generic 1/3 body with onahole and sells it in a very off brand way.
The example I wanted to bring up wasn’t this one, but the orders in my history show it as delisted. But you saw others of that one chick from Prison School for example.
But that’s not the curious thing. It’s interesting, sure, but not the most curious.
No, the curious one is the one where they molded the legs, fishnets and shoes and all and then didn’t color them.
By the way, I added a search bar to the home page and also adjusted the font size of some of the things.
I also told WordPress to not get so excited about itself.
