This adventure is done… for now.
Today’s reading is made out of a bunch of cards that just… fell off in a chunk while shuffling. As such I had to improvide the spread a little bit, but it gives a strong impression of… “leadership will be tested”, which is a very interesting thing to see.
I woke up straight to going out… kinda. I did have to make sure I didn’t forget anything and such.
Thankfully the station was literally just a couple of meters away from the hotel so leaving was easy.
In fact, returning went smoother than last time in general. When the train arrived in Sakaiminato I was kinda bummed it wasn’t one of the character-themed ones (though notably still the same old kind of train) but turns out the in-character station announcement are still there and that made me happy.
I arrived to Yonago with plenty of time and I got a nice seat so I was able to spread myself in peace without worrying about some random guy nodding off in my direction.
The transfer in Okayama also went smoothly aside from the fact that I couldn’t buy a transfer ticket from inside the gates for some reason so I had to go out and around.

My mailbox was about to explode with mail as usual, of note is that I learned from the janitor that if one of the delivery lockers (a specific one, no less) gets stuck, I should kick it to open it.
I got official permission by building staff to perform percussive maintenance if necessary. Apparently this is the fourth time it’s gotten stuck like that.

Having confirmed that nothing blew up and the damn wasps didn’t set home again while I was gone I just dissociated for a bit, took a nap, took ibuprofen for a headache… there’s a certain irony in how you go travel to rest but then need to rest from that rest.

I had a dinner with friends that came for BitSummit so I took it easy until like 6 to shower and fix myself up for that.
Man, the water heater is kinda redundant at this time, the sun heats up the pipes so I can leave it at like 32 and it still feels like it’s coming out at 40.

To my shock, I was the first to arrive to the restaurant so I warmed the seats while I waited for everyone.
It was a fun evening! The food was good, the conversation was good, and I gave everyone a copy of my photobook for fun!

Afterwards came the usual “oh no did I say or do something rude?” anxieties, but I’d rather not acknowledge that voice in my head if possible.
