Today’s deck is the Macaron Bunny Tarot.

CUTE BUN BUN AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
Today’s reading is reminding me to nurture the internal part of self-improvement through chasing all those ideas I now have the mental bandwidth to think about.

I forget when it was but the other day while talking with E, the topic of Labubus came up and I pointed out that Labubus in the US are an invasive species, a phenomenon that the local fauna isn’t used to dealing with.
Meanwhile, Japan has a rich history of hanging Litle Guys off your belongings so Labubu isn’t an apex predator with no competition.
Ironically, this sort of thing also means Labubus might thrive for a longer time in Japan since they’re not a phenomenon that will burn out but rather part of an ever-present trend.
The conversation did bring up that giving Labubus to a normie is equivalent to “giving unrestricted access to an iPad with Vampire Survivors on it to a 5-year old”, AKA “you have less than zero built-in defenses to handle what this does to your brain”.

Anyway, I made an appointment today at Edelsteinn, the doll studio we went to the other day. They added a new easter and Sakura backdrop that I wanted to take pics in.
Main problem being that as you might expect from all the Activities I’ve talked about lately, we’re… kinda drained. But the show must go on and so we dragged our asses out and made it in time.
It was as pleasant as last time. I tried bringing a 45mm lens today so I need to do less acrobatics to get everything in frame, and while I DID indeed achieve that, the acrobatics were non zero.

I also brought my own LEDs to do the color keying that we tried out yesterday and one of them died immediately and the other lasted long enough where at least Mimi for a slight pink tint on her photo.

Flare was next and while her pose wasn’t hard, turns out I forgot to bring the plate of one of my bases so I had to take Mimi’s out and put her on one of the studio’s courtesy bases.

Last was Ichigo, it’s been a while since I’ve taken her out and she deserved the most pimped out outfit of the bunch.

The owner of the studio actually seemed to really like her. These shots in particular were her idea.

I also snuck in a couple on the easter backdrop. The owner’s own suggestion which was extra welcome since we were a bit in overtime.
I took some pics with the Nikkon F4 I got the other day and the film ended at exactly the last shot. I’m curious how they’ll turn out but when I went to Yodobashi Camera yesterday they said the film from my Pentax will take 2 weeks. Which is fine, but I gotta wonder if there’s any specialized place that does it locally instead of shipping it to a different service.

Next step in the itinerary was to go to Element L (the doll bar) and oops it’s packed to the gills. Time to shift plans and go to Placebo instead since I wanted to show E that one.
It was a chill time, we killed an hour or so until Evil opened up.

We updated the bartender in the adventures we’ve had so far and went out at a decent enough time that we were able to take the train back.

I’ll pay for this level of activity one way or another, but let’s be real last year was Stress Incarnate and February/March didn’t help. I kinda needed this level of Doing Stuff in general.
