Today’s deck is the Hocus Pocus Tarot.

I think the Nostalgia Critic made a video about this movie? You know, it’s kinda crazy how little of Nostalgia Critic I remember considering how much of it I watched during college and stuff. It’s like my brain flushed out everything related to it.
I’d say I stopped watching it… at least 2 or so years before they had their big controversy or whatever? By the time of the controversy I unsubscribed to the channel more out of a sense of “well, I wasn’t watching the videos anyways” than out of any specific outrage as it were.
As for the deck, kinda blegh. Reminds me of the other Disney ones I tried last year where they felt like the had the bare minimum effort put into them.
Today’s reading reflects exhaustion from the weight of responsability which… yeah, mood.

You know, it’s funny that I mention my brain flushed out the NC stuff it had absorbed because I actually woke up randomly remembering a video on Honey Boo Boo I watched AAAAAAAGES ago where the the dude reading the script opened up by saying something like “[whoever the fuck] was born on [whenever the fuck] at 0 years old”.
That phrasing stuck so hard with me because it’s like… either they were using ChatGPT for the script or they had that as a very personal ideosyncracy and I doubt the latter one because it was one of those channels with capital Z Zero identity.
That’s the thing that gets me about the people that unironically use LLMs for “legit” purposes, they don’t have the presence of mind to even CHECK for any stuff like that. And I’ve talked about this a lot before but it’s the sort of thing where, yeah, of course they would find Mathematically Mid illustrations created by LLMs to be appealing, they don’t have a single bone with a modicum of creative curiosity or sense for quality in them.
The sort of person that will read in the most deadpan voice “born at zero years old” and not stop for a moment to wonder “is that wording weird?”.

While running for errands I got a DM from someone that had made a Valhalla-inspired game a while back telling me they got into Uma Musume because of Door to a New Era and they found my blog. So of course seeing it was from me stunlocked them.
That has happened, that I know of, at least three times. And I’m not even counting the Reddit comments that were like “he’s writing about that instead of working on Nirvana”. And I don’t count those because fuck those people.
So anyway, that kinda gave me the motivation to write something for the blog again, specifically a summary of Volume 3 of the artbooks that released a bit ago.
And that’s the thing, for as much as random hate gets me, random praise motivates me like you have no idea. I’m not hard to please whatsoever which makes the fact that I’m so constantly displeased all the more frustrating.

After doing some more paperwork I decided to treat myself opening up a couple of Soul of Chogokin I had still boxed around the house.
One was GaoFighGar, but the main one was this Chouryuujin.
Here’s the thing: The only other Chouryujin figure (not counting the original 90s toy) out there was a superminipla and it was disappointing as hell. And to explain that please watch this clip.
Basically, because of proportions, the Superminipla didn’t let you replicate the transformation properly, instead you’d switch into like, a single-piece torso and whatnot, and I GET why it had to be that way but doesn’t mean I’m gonna be happy about it.
The Chogokin Chouryuujin DOES offer the option of bigger hands and a single-piece torso for more dynamic posing, but as you can probably tell I’m happy with the final result regardless.
I love GaoGaiGar so much, I don’t wanna get too sidetracked about it today though.

Other than that, I will put up with the paperwork bullshit and then treat myself going to the beach on Sunday.
Work Hard Party Hard and all that.
