Today’s reading is an invitations to meditate on the prosperity brought up by bonds. Quite literally prompting me to consider the treasure that is the friends made along the way.
So in Venezuela we have an idiom: “botando la piedra”. It can be translated as “throwing out the rock”, but it’s more accurately translated as “pissing out the stone”.
The idea is that you’re so pissed you’re pissing your kidney stones out… at least that’s what I assume it to mean, the etymology for Venezuelan idioms can be… confounding.
No two guesses as to why I brought it up (hint: today was a very calm day).
We all have our baboons (banes and boons).
Mine is the fact that I don’t gotta “drink a lot of soda” to get kidney stones ’cause my body produces them naturally… case in point, compared to the unhealthy amount of coke I drank growing up my diet IS overall better and that has only ramped up.
My boon, however is having a freaky bladder that works at 5 times the normal speed. An annoyance during long trips but a fucking blessing due to the aforementioned Bane.
By the way, Pachinko Parlors become so nice to see the moment you realize all of those fuckers have a bathroom and they’re everywhere.
My mood today has been a little bit on the low side. Nothing too crazy just my usual pangs of loneliness here and there.
