Today’s reading is advising that things are happening, good things, but that it’s gonna take a while, a very painful while, for them to truly take shape.

This is a copy of Bakunyuu Newscaster Anzai-san. It’s an eromanga compilation of works by Amazaki Kanna. It was one of the first such compilations I saw as a teen.
I cannot remember for the life of me where I came across the information that “Bakunyuu” (爆乳) was the “genre” for “Giant Tits” (in truth, Kyonyuu 巨乳 is the more common one) but after learning that I went to… I think I just googled it? This was in 2007-2008-ish so the internet was still very open about that sort of copyright infringement and advertising models weren’t developed enough for everyone to start spamming them.
Anyway, I got this in a zip called “Bakunyuu”. It wasn’t the first such manga I’d come across, but it was the first full compilation of them I’d seen.
This one and Daisy! by Amatarou were the two I reread so much I basically know them from memory. In fact, I was honestly lowkey obsessed with Daisy! It’s a more consistent compilation in the sense that the first few chapters are all the same narrative, so half the book is about the main character, his blonde sister, and his brunette crush before it veers into anthology mode.
And when I say obsessed, I mean that I got invested in those three the way any teenager does with a story where I ended up imagining what they might be like outside of a porn story together.
Really goes to show you that it’s basically a human impulse to get invested in characters that way.
In fact, I remember Daisy SO WELL that looking for the cover for this post (I have a copy, but it’s currently in V’s room in one of the bookshelves there) that I immediately remembered the chapter where a couple goes to an onsen and the hostess turned out to be an okama (and I use the term because it’s very clearly trying to evoke the less charitable ideas associated with the term) having their way with her while she thinks they’re her travel partner.
It’s porn, it’s a 2008 book, there’s a chapter with a guy trying to open an elevator with his dick. It’s not really a moral thing, it’s just me thinking about the fact I very specifically remembered THAT chapter.
Also yes, I’m reminiscing about teenage years and this is the sort of content I had on a hidden folder on my PC. When I say I’ve been Like This all my life I really do mean ALL MY LIFE.
On that note, I got the Anzai-san copy because I found the folder while checking one of my really old HDDs and figured it’d be neat to have an actual copy around.
You wanna know how old that HDD is? Once upon a time I used to have a bunch of pics that classmates uploaded to Facebook in a folder there.
Used to because when the HDD got back into my hands in 2019 (after I moved to Japan and long after I stopped using it since I switched to a PC with more than 80gb of HDD) my reaction could be summed up as “Ew ew ew ew ew delete this ew”.
Back to the artists, Amazaki Kanna and Amatarou are still around. Though Amazaki seems to be more sporadic with their releases and Amatarou doesn’t have a fanbox or anything similar but still make stuff for manga compilations it seems.
Nothing much to report on the daily life part… OH RIGHT! I did order a stamp like a week ago with the company address and whatnot and it arrived today alongside other stamps and oh would you look at that, it’s obsolete because we changed address.
At least it was just 2000 yen unlike the proper company stamp…
