Today’s deck is the Tarot of Dragons.

I’ve never understood the hype behind dragons… or Dinosaurs really. Not even in the “I see what you see I just don’t feel it” way, I legitimately don’t Get It. Like, my favorite starter in Gen 1 pokemon was Blastoise because it’s a fucking turtle with cannons, I can point at something other than just “big turtle”.
That said, if you’re a Dragons person this deck is perfect, the art is great and the useablity is on point.
Today’s reading is interesting because it felt like I was being ragebaited by the cards so to speak. They talk about reminiscing about simpler times where I didn’t have all the financial stresses I have right now and I called bullshit because I might be stressed to kingdom come but I have way more freedom than I’ve ever had in my life. Even at its worst I would never want to go back to how I felt in college as a financial load on my parents that was bringing nothing of value to support myself.
…then I realized that this sort of reaction is basically the cards nudging me that if I ever feel overwhelmed by stuff I should keep that in mind, so y’know, well played I guess.

One funny thing about being catholic is that there’s so many branches of it that you’re not aware of until basically you go to mass on a different church and they have different saints and sing different songs.
Like, TECHNICALLY I’m a carmelite Catholic because the main church I frequented with my family was a church of the carmelite Virgin which has its own closing song and whatnot.
Man, “church closing song” what a thing to write.
I bring this up not just because of the curiosity about different branches but also because I was remembering something funny the other day.
The priest that baptized me, may he rest in peace, hated cellphones, like HATE hate, he would talk about all the ills of the world and he would put cellphones alongside other crimes as something to pray to be rid of. And keep in mind this is pre-2010, at most everyone had a friggin Blackberry.
So what did he do? He installed signal jammers on the church.
No, really.
Right between the glass panes depicting bible scenes there’d be these things that kinda look like wifi extenders but were instead to make sure the phone signal died while inside the building.
They remained after his passing and the church passing hands onto the next set of priests, dunno if they still have them, though.

Speaking of haters, I had a pleasant surprise after yesterday’s post.
I got an email from the person that made the steam forums topic I keep seeing pingbacks from very apologetic about it all after having witnessed the… negativity of that page.
Now, here’s the thing: If it had been someone with ill intent that regretted it and wanted to apologize I would’ve 100% forgiven them, not only was this a harmless matter in the grand scheme of things (not like I’ve gotten *direct* harassment about it for example), but in such scenario it takes a lot of character to be like “hey, I messed up, I’m very sorry”.
But this isn’t the scenario, this was someone that’s been following my writings for A While and wanted to share things in a very neutral way just to inform others. Not only did that give me the relief that it wasn’t someone talking shit behind my back, but they were offering me to edit the topic in some way to make me more comfortable.
I reassured them that nothing needed to be done and instead thanked them for coming forward about it. If you’re reading this (and you know who you are), just in case you didn’t catch my email reply: less than zero hard feelings, thank you.

My day itself didn’t have anything special, mailman came to pick up some boxes, I continue to clean up the house… I did wake up with my throat sore and dry, though; so I’m in slightly high alert in case I caught something.
