Grongi ASMR

Today’s deck is the Golden Black Cat Tarot.

If the cards were less huge and the borders weren’t the glittery kind, I’d be more into this one, I feel.

Todays’ reading feels like a reflection of something I brought in therapy just yesterday. The idea that if something good is happening maybe it’s not the prelude to the other shoe dropping but rather the good karmic payoff I deserve. Today’s reading, thus, kinda feels like it’s reminding me to let that sink in.

You know how sometimes you wake up to find a lot of people bringing up a similar topic? Not like a trend but like a bit of news flowing the air on its way.

Today I woke up with a lot of Kuuga content and then I found out the reason.

A piece of ear-cleaning ASMR was released. The framing, the story is that you’re in a village with girls that speak a language you don’t understand but man are they treating you nicely.

Then you hear it and…

It’s Grongi.

It’s literally the made-up language that the villains in Kamen Rider Kuuga speak in that’s a phonetic replacement cipher of Japanese.

And you might be thinking this is surely just a coincidence BUT consider the following:

In the store page, the two girls are named Me Range Da and Go Rizubi Da. Grongi names are composed of a rank, a proper name and then a suffix that’s indicative of their species.

Do you see how both are called “Da” at the end? That indicates they’re mammals. MOREOVER the Grongi heirarchy goes Xu then Me, then Go, then La. So the listener is being pampered by generals from the midpoint of the show before things get really serious.

No it’s not a coincidence, it’s deliberate. Incidentally, the VA for the piece outright says she’s a Heisei Rider fan on her twitter bio.

Star Trek fans would never.

So today was V’s birthday and we started by going for dessert in place of cake. I joined last out of everyone and met up with them at Nana’s Green Tea.

It’s great! Too bad I don’t like Gree Tea too much. Tea and coffee and some other things have this specific… I don’t know if I’d even call it a flavor, but it’s a Thing they have that I sense and I’m not the biggest fan of, and green tea has it the strongest out of all.

Next stop was sushi, but on the way we stopped at Tsuyuno Tenjinsha, a small temple by Umeda (one of many) associated with Love specifically.

We went to my favorite Genroku Sushi and I continued my mission of making sure I’m not crazy and that specific shop IS unnaturally good.

Particularly in terms of taste to value, basically.

From there we went to the Joysound that I like… mainly because I insisted we go to Joysound due to the song quality and I was shocked to learn we got a room with better sound and even fucking monitors while singing.

I gotta make sure to ask next time specifically if the “Sugo Oto” room is free.

Last song of the night was Eyes On Me so I’d say it was a good day overall.
