Today’s reading is basically saying “just because you can pay for a thing doesn’t mean you should”.
Yeah that applies to the bookshelf stuff, but I can think of a couple other things it might refer to.

You might be wondering “Did Fer go crazy?” and I take issue with the wording because that implies I wasn’t to begin with.
But honestly, it’s just the satisfaction of “I had a theory and it proved right” at play.
Now what if they fall again after all this? I’ll… cross that bridge when I get there.
Anyway, after like two reschedulings I finally did the one-year checkup with the hair transplant clinic and MAN it’s a world of difference.
You see, one of the things I was SLIGHTLY wary about was if it looked… like plugs, you know? I only wanted the top of my head to be fixed, I didn’t mind a receding hairline so long as it receded from the front and not the back. And that’s exactly what I got, I didn’t suddenly go from thin hair (which I’ve had since I was a kid mind you) to a Thick Wig, I just have the top of my head more covered but still looking like it should.
It was worth it since the start. Aside from uh… the post-operatory pain, which consisted of spending the first day with my head tied up with a tight-ass bandage, then spending the first week with the prickling of 3000 donor folicules and 3000 transplanted folicules, and then the first month or so with a bunch of ingrown hairs.
Shame I forgot to ask them if I could have the comparison photos because God Damn.
I wouldn’t be against a second round of it (even being aware of The Pain), but my hair is FINALLY growing and you know, I wanna enjoy having long hair for a bit if nothing else.
Funnily enough that’s another unexpected benefit I got from the whole process, shaving my head for it meant the hair was growing a bit more uniform that growing it from Regular Dude Haircut.
By the way I can’t remember if I’ve told this story on this blog, but when I had my head shaved for the process, a bunch of family and friends went…
“…you know, you don’t look bad with your head shaved though…”
And it’s like, thank you, I’ll gladly take the compliment, glad to hear the option is open to me, but also NOT QUITE WHAT I WANT TO HEAR RIGHT NOW.
I got sushi on my way back and then decided to just head home because it’s been rainy as hell man, it’s gonna be Fuck You Weather until Wednesday AT LEAST and that’s annoying.
I had a minor spook because when I got back I decided to do the usual backing up and cleaning up of files and whatnot but the HDD I use for that kept disconnecting and I was worried that there was something wrong with it.
Thankfully the problem is the USB port instead.
That lowkey reminded me that I’ve wanted to give my PC a refresh, including a new case and stuff, but that’s lower in the priority list. I don’t play graphics-intensive games anyways. Closest I’ve come to needing that is for Monster Hunter Wilds and not only did I get a PS5 anyways, I haven’t had time to play.
I also went through another Digimon TCG expansion today, only two left to go through.
Man, these card games have me spoiled when it comes to holo patterns. It’s hard to be excited about foil cards from YGO and MTG when you get that comparison of “shiny foil” vs “TEXTURED FOIL THAT ALSO EMPHASIZES DETAILS”.
The rest of the day was spent doing busywork around the house. I sure hope the rain lets up before Thursday because the trash bags full of paper and cardboard and the like are piling up like crazy.
