Today’s deck is the Valentina Tarot.

I really dig its stlye, though the way it just has text in regular font for some cards is SO dissonant.
Today’s reading is pointing out that the hard times are closing, I cannot be hurt anymore (or at least not any more), and that I should go ahead and try to start pursuing my own goals again.
I’ve been basically stuck trying to relax, so yeah.

I feel like a broken record saying I’m so tired but there’s definitely a lot of pent up exhaustion kicking my ass at once.
There was a doll event but even if I had a girl prepared I was just… so drained. By the time I left the house for a bit of walking it was already like 5PM.
But go out I did ’cause I had a new toy and I wanted to test it.
First thing I noticed about the recorder: It’s so sensitive that it detected my fingers in contact with the plastic. This is where the obvious “what’s why the people handing microphones have them on stands and such” bit comes in and yeah you don’t realize why things be the way they be until you put things to practice.
The second thing is that using headphones while recording ambient sound is so surreal, it sounds like you have superhuman hearing, especially with how it enhances specific noises like cars while reducing regular ambient static.
…third thing was that I definitely need one of those fuzzy things you put over the microphone for the wind.
I did some test recording while walking to the station and then while at Umeda I sat by Osaka station and just let the recorder do its thing for a couple of minutes.
I did some extra recording on my way back and checked the results.

First thing I notice is that if you use the extra two microphone channels it actually saves those as separate files which makes the mind ponder and wonder about possibilities.
I was also glad to see it didn’t peak as easily as it looked on its screen (in truth, the levels themselves never peaked, but the waveform looked big) so I could try with even more sensitivity.
Here’s random ambient noise from Osaka station. I could’ve probably gotten more chatter on a different spot but I was just learning to use the device instead of looking for any specific sounds.
And here’s an extract of some electric buzz from a generator on my way back.
Something something Lain Reference something…
I was already giddy at the idea of capturing my own ambient noise, but when I noticed in that last clip the way it also catches directional movement… needless to say I grew giddier by the minute.
After coming back home I was a bit anxious… just the regular affair, nothing specific, so I went back out again and just for fun tried to take the sound of a train crossing.
So here you go.
When I came back I decided I wanted to try a wash for doll hair I got ages ago. It’s supposed to make the wigs all smooth and sily, it’s even more of a cosplay thing than a doll-specific thing.
So I start with Luna and Sol’s since I wanted to take them out soon-ish and the moment I put Luna’s hair in the water it IMMEDIATELY became cloudy.

I mean, I’ve had her for almost 4 years and she’s the one I take the most pics of so it makes sense her hair wasn’t exactly pristine after so long.
I then picked other girls I wanna take out soon. Berry, Haru, Cherry, Midori, Himeno, and Amane. NONE OF THEM got the water as cloudy as Luna.
The smell of the shampoo is curious because it smells EXACTLY like the medicated shampoo we use for our dogs back at my parents’ place so what was funnily nostalgic.

We’ll see how it turns out tomorrow.
