Izu day 2

April Fool’s! I’ve got nothing though, not here at least.

Today’s reading feels like the payoff to yesterday… I guess I can give a bit of extra context.

I’m not the biggest fan of credit cards… or debt, really. Something that actually goes both ways in that I don’t like keeping tabs on how much people might ow me, and I don’t like owing things to people.

This is relevant because I only have debit cards, and one of them reached its expense limit, and before I realized that it was the CARD’S limit and not the ACCOUNT’S I had to quickly prioritize which expenses to fix first.

That was yesterday. Today’s reading feels like it’s saying “and because you’re so generous and put your priorities correctly, you’ll do everything equally smoothly in the end”. Which I did.

So I was gonna write today’s entry entirely in haiku as a joke. But then I ended up doing cool stuff and you know what? I already did one for the Uma Musume blog and dropped a short story I had sitting for a year just for fun. I met my quota twice over.

To me the best April Fool stuff is the one where it’s just an excuse to do something experimental, honestly.

So after breakfast and dressing up the girls I headed out with… no plan, really. My main thing was looking for Sakura trees, so I had a curious idea: What if I just look for nearby temples and take it from there?

Best choice I’ve made in a while.

The thing about temples is that they’re everywhere so if you don’t know whwere to go you can at the very least find a cool spot.

Case in point, as I was exploring I found this one that looked kinda fancy and then… I saw it…

Mountain path.

The actual temple required you to go up a hill.

I had the dumbest grin on my face.

I actually filmed myself going up, but the internet in this hotel is kinda bleh so I’ll upload it after I return.

Honestly, after finding that temple (I’ve got their names, but I’ll get it all sorted after I return) I was happy. I could not find another cool place or take pics with the girls and I’d be happy.

My one goal with every trip is doing at least one thing I can look back onto, one cool find, one nice spot, even one funny story.

I decided to explore the town though (by “town” I mean the spot where I dropped off the bus) and to my surprise I actually saw a spot that caught my eye on my trip last year.

When I was returning I remember seeing this cool flower dial and thinking “it’d be cool to stay near here”. And as much as I’d like to say I planned for that, you all should know by now that I don’t plan anything ever.

And oh would you look at that, it had a Sakura tree!

This is Asagi by the way, the girl I mentioned yesterday.

And this is Mimi.

And this is Jay Kay from Jamiroquai- no wait…

By the way, all the way through the weather was… ass is a strong word, it was butt, the weather was decidedly Butt. Windy as hell and not pouring down rain but being splashed by a shower nonetheless.

When I returned to the hotel I just kinda… tuned out. I could’ve taken pics in the balcony bath, I could’ve used the balcony bath… instead I just dissociated while scrolling instagram.

You know Twitter’s algorythm has gone to shit when I feel like instagram provides me a better option.

Even if all the videos with people’s face where it looks like they wanna eat the camera infuriate me.

I just would rather only be subjected to people’s faces by necessity, eye contact is an overwhelming influx of information for me.

But this isn’t Tales from the Spectrum so disregard that.

Overall a good day! No better joke than feeling content with life.
