The weather is actually nice today, would you look at that.
Seeing cards repeat themselves across decks, despite the fact that I shuffle the dang things, reminds me of how Apple had to develop a “smart shuffle” because people complained their shuffle thingy wasn’t truly random.
I mean, mathematically it’s impossible to be random, that’s why RNG is a “pseudo-random number generator”, but that’s the point I’m making.
Today’s reading speaks of progress in internal healing and I’m gonna skip ahead to where this became relevant.
Basically I was exploring around and at one point somone actually came out of their house to ask me if I needed help/directions. They weren’t rude, they probably thought I was legitimately lost.
But there was a small corner of my brain going “oh man, you probably looked shady”. I was somehow able to tell myself “maybe? But I left immediately and he didn’t raise a fuss so for all he cares the annoyance is gone if that were to be the case”.
The reading today feels like it’s talking about this specific ability to be able to do that whereas I would be kicking myself about the minor situation for weeks a years ago.

So I THINK I figured out what jolts me awake suddenly. I think I just twist myself into some position that lowers how much air I breathe in so when I fall asleep and breathe slower my body notices it’s too little air.
At least that’s my current theory now.
First thing I did in the day was leave the girls behind and walk around for a bit on my own.

There’s these super cool stairs I saw on the way that I took a video of, but again, subpar hotel internet, I’ll upload that later.
My main goal today was to see temples, because I realized that if you look for temples, you’re gonna find one of three kinds of places: A super cool hidden corner, a something hidden between bigger things, or something big enough to call attention to itself.

The day started fun with a temple hidden uphill between some houses. It’s called Suwa shrine apparently. Something something touhou reference something.
There was a mountain path nearby that was so so so so SO tempting, but I decided to abstain.
GOD I wanted to go up it so badly though.
Emboldened I decided to see as many shrines as I could… spoilers: I got to EIGHT by the end, and those don’t overlap with yesterday’s so it was actually more like 12 total this trip.

I intend to sort things out after I go back, but hihglights include: a temple where there was a funeral, a couple of temples that were the kind where you gotta get in a house first, a temple that was basically pretty much just a house but still had signs indicating its existence, and Seiun Temple which I remember the name of not just because Uma Musume but because stairs.

There were also a couple of temples labeled instead as historical landmarks so that’s definitely something to look out for.
I returned to the hotel and decided to take some pics with the girls while I was there.

Mimi is so funny because she’s basically this meme.

I’m particularly proud of the last set, it really conveys its intent of it being less romantic and more just a moment of bonding between two sisters with a healthy dose of God I Wish That Were Me.
I soaked my creaking muscles and made one last outing with the girls in tow to stock up on snacks for the road back… with the ticking clock of “I gotta be back for when they serve dinner”.
The food is great, mind you. I’d just rather survive off conbini onigiri if it means I get to set my own pace…

On the way back I also took these two in a spot called “Traveller’s Point”. It’s basically a small stop where you can see the sea and it’s supposed to be really pretty during sunset.
Too bad both days I’ve been here have been OVERCAST.
But with those pics taken I was officially set with my usual list of stuff I wanted to do. Pics near cherry blossoms, pics with the balcony bath, another set just for fun, and seeing a bunch of cool spots.

I’ve had to learn to not kick myself when I can’t do EVERYTHING but it’s still so nice when I CAN do everything I wanted.
