Second day in Otaru begins!
In today’s reading the eight of cups fell off so we’re starting with an undercurrent of regret, but the interesting thing is that this regret is very specifically of the “walking away in the dead of night when nobody can see you” kind.
Something is missing, something is dissapointing to you, you’re walking out of it, that sort of thing. It’s bitter but also necessary. I remember when I decided/realized that I HAD to leave Venezuela I cried so much… like, I’ve never cried so long or so hard to this day, I legitimately had to try and stop myself from crying at one point because I was afraid I might… dunno, legitimately pass out like a victorian maiden or something it was that bad.
…now that I think about it, the other two cards are about new beginnings and the excitement to do new stuff. So I feel like the cards just wanted me to think about that today.

I woke up at like 1AM so thirsty, like… Holy shit.
Now the problem with that is that the moment I drink water I snap fully awake, so while contemplating life I figured I might as well stock up on some stuff while the nearby Lawson is hopefully empty.
I bought some things like shampoo and soap because honestly fuck using the one in hotel rooms, and I even paid some bills still in my backpack.
I don’t think I’ve talked about this enough in this blog but I love veggie salads, specifically the kind that’s just veggies and dressing without extra stuff like meat (eg: tuna, chicken) or cheese or mayo and the like. No diss to those, in fact I don’t make more chicken salad for the sake of my health.
But yeah, I’ve always love them, growing up every single meal had one such salad, and even now in my adult life I keep a Ziploc of shredded cabbage and carrots that’s a godsend as a quick meal.

I bring this up because the craving for that always hit me while out and it wasn’t until a few trips ago that I realized I could just get a conbini’s salad pack and a dressing pack and BOOM. So I bought a couple of those to have in the room’s fridge.
Big fan of the onion dressing myself by the way.
…yeah, I’m keenly aware of how much meat I post in this blog, if not for all the veggies and fruit balancing things my diet would be so awful.
By the way, while I was deliberating whether or not to get out of bed, I was slightly disoriented what with being in a different room and stuff, and I was trying to remember how the room looked or how I was oriented in it.
It seems like an innocent thing but not being able to recall that sort of thing really scares me so I try my hardest to remember… Usually pushing myself until I’m actually awake proper and remember everything instead of the Fae playing checkers with my memory.

After some eating I went back to sleep and slept for… like almost 12 hours. That’s on top of the 4 hours before I woke up the first time around.
And you can tell it’s the “I was on the edge of stress” kind of long sleep because I spent most of it having dreams about waking up over and over again, which only happens when I feel done but my body says No.
Missed breakfast at the hotel but I had an onigiri from before sleeping so that kept me from starving too hard. I decided to take it easy and explore around for a bit.
The nearby pier with all the lights and stuff was packed to the gills so I walked a bit further and found a neat souvenir shop.

Apparently Otaru has its own mascot idol unit? I love to see those local anime girls, especially when they’re individual (like Aoshima Megu in Mie) rather than part of bigger stuff like Onsen Musume.
I did a lot of extra walking before stopping by an Izakaya, and gotta say, after complaining so much about that girl at the ticket gate yesterday I’ve been clumsy today. Sitting in someone else’s corner of the Izakaya because I didn’t catch that it (“it” meaning a bar-like table) was a long table rather than individual spots, or another time when I stepped on a lady’s heels.
You wanna know the difference though? Both times I audibly and visibly APOLOGIZED.
Dunno why I forgot so much stuff today though. I ordered some sashimi assuming it was sashimi and rice before getting and remembering “oh right, Izakaya, no rice unless it’s a rice bowl of sashimi”.
I wanted crab, but crab was only on bigger dishes and I’m a small eater.

I have a friend that loves seafood and I was like “if only she was here right now to face this challenge with me…”.
I decided to go back to my room and warm up and uh… let’s just say the hectic pace from yesterday and all the sleeping today finally caught up with my intestines.
Nothing too serious but I did leave the bathroom with a legitimate headache afterwards.

As expected from sleeping so much I wasn’t really sleepy even into like 2AM so I decided to go out with Poppy and took advantage of this one road being completely empty aside from the guy plowing snow wondering what the fuck I was doing.
Speaking of Dolls, there’s actually a Volks showroom in Sapporo and I’m curious about checking it out, but it’ll all depend on what my sleep schedule becomes.
That said, if I end up sleeping through most of the trip I’m not gonna complain, that’s welcome too.
