Marking territory

Today’s deck is Supernatural: Join The Hunt Tarot.

Sadly (or luckily, if the criticism that come to my periphery are anything to go by) I’ve never watched Supernatural. I can only attest to the fact that the deck is bog standard licensed deck affair.

Today’s reading speaks of an impasse born from things moving too fast and causing conflict.

It didn’t bring anything specific to mind, but I do have this sense of “the thing it refers to is in the tip of my tongue”.

To be honest, I was still in the aftershocks of all the THINKING I ended up doing yesterday so I tuned out doing house chores. And as you can see above I refreshed one of my walls with a bunch of Jouji Sorimura prints that arrived (and a Belko one).

The walls I’ve been refreshing mainly had Prisma Illya posters. It’s a tad bittersweet to see them decoloring, but that’s when I remembered that they’ve been hung out for like 4 years.

When I was dragging my ass out of depression bit by bit in 2021, one of the things I realized was that “man, I have a whole house and I still live like I’m my old one room apartment”, and I unironically remembered this XKCD comic.

More like nailing than drilling, but the point remains. Filling the walls with a bunch of Prisma Illya posters felt like I was truly marking the place as mine, like “I own these walls, I can put these shameful posters and nobody can stop me”.

Really, one of the big reasons why my place is still messy is that I moved ultra depressed, so I’ve been picking up the slack and redecorating over a… very flawed base so to speak.

In this reminiscing I also remembered the fact that the posters are just Nyantype inserts I framed and suddenly the bleaching made sense. Magazine stock tears if you so much as THINK in its direction, no shit it’s decoloring.

Between the slight redecoration and other stuff I spent most of the night tearing boxes, and while at it I finished a book on the Beanie Baby Boom that I started a while back.

One of the funniest things about the book was that for most of it I was hearing all the bullshit Mr. Ty did personally and I kept thinking “yeah, but no tax fraud” “yeah, and still no tax fraud, though”. It’s so wild to hear about such a big company and also hear that they kept the books clean. Sure it was running a ship that was too tight but-

And then near the end the tax fraud part got revealed.

It was for personal taxes instead of anything tied to the company but still! It was a very “ah, there it is” moment.

Outside of this, I learned that Abeno Harukas and the Umeda Sky Building close at 10PM to allow for stargazing (being high above the city and whatnot) and I really wanna try that.

Even if the stars aren’t visible (from clouds or otherwise) I should be able to get some banger city photos.
