No evil spirit is gonna slap MY balls today.
Today’s reading is interesting: “When intuition fails, retreat to realign yourself”.

I managed to sleep like 3 or 4 hours or something which was enough in my mind to declare it a new day.
I decided to go to Ise Jingu as planned so I took the nearby train-that-feels-like-a-bus to Ise-shi and half for fun half as pilgrimage I walked to Ise Jingu from there.
It was nice to see the residential areas and whatnot, and when I noticed what side I arrived from it helped me build more of a mental map in relation to the places I knew.

God it’s hot today…
My main goal was to get the Omamori but I got sidetracked buying… books of all things.
I was particularly interested in getting a thing I saw last time that I forgot to get: basically a notebook that allows you to display omamori inside of it.
There was an art display by an illustrator so I got a postcard notebook and a small selection of drawings in poster form. Then I went to one of the Cool Rocks Shop and… got a bunch of guidebooks about temples across the country, and specifically a book about places with Sacred Rocks.

I was getting hungry so I gave a try to a shop I hadn’t been to in the past. It was… fine, but I was definitely hungry enough to go at it without thinking at all.
I can’t remember if I mentioned this last time, but Ise is, curiously, known as much for its pearls and lobster as it is for beef of all things. It’s not wagyu but it’s good beef.

I walk to Ise Jingu and I get an Omamori only to realize it was for car safety. It’s fine, I’ll just send it to my family, but I then got a different one while paying attention what the dang thing said it does.
I made my stay in Ise Jingu short because… I mean I walked like 3 or so km to get there, I was a bit tired. I was filming Omoide Yokocho (the shopping district near the temple) when, checking how to return, I noticed that there was a bus that would pass by in like 10 minutes so I lowkey rushed that way.
It was just 4 stops to my stop, but notably it passed by that one ninja theme park I need to go to one of these days.
I ain’t going alone though.

I made it back to my room and running inventory I realized that… I didn’t get an omikuji for the omikuji book I bought.
Now, this might seem like an obvious thing to keep in mind, but the thing is that the notebook came with a slip of paper that said “omikuji… something” so in my cursory assessment I assumed “oh, this is a complimentary omikuji to start”.
It was not.

Well, that’s not ENTIRELY true, I went to an ATM and the ATMs give you a slip with a small omikuji in them. I had middle luck this time around.
But it’s not the long type the notebooks was made for, is the point.
I stayed inside the room to cool off because fuck me I was on the edge of heat exhaustion if my stomach was anything to go by.

You know, one bummer about this hotel… okay, actually, two bummers.
One is the fact that the elevator is SLOOOOOOOOOOW, and they know it, the put a pair of chairs near the elevator.
The one I was trying to talk about, however, is the fact tht the noise insulation in the place is pitiful, in fact, as I write this, I keep hearing bumps that sound like someone’s fucking and hitting the bed against the wall constantly, but the thing that gets me is that the acoustics are so fucked up that I hear the bumps on the wall that connects to nothing.
If it happened yesterday fuck me I would be reciting prayers and sutras to exorcise whatever’s nearby.

After cooling off everything else in me also cooled off and any plans to go out again were canned. Sleep it is.
