My Jong

Today’s deck is The Antique Anatomy Tarot.

Like the name implies, the theme is basically old anatomy illustrations. Really cool.

Today’s reading seems to talk about an impasse between defending what you’ve fought for and charging forth with what you wish. To me that means it’s reflecting my eternal fight balancing paperwork (protecting what I have) and creative work (what I wanna charge ahead doing).

That balance problem isn’t much of a problem today, however, because I still have to deal with the bigger problem of going unmedicated.

As much as my instinct is to kick myself, taking it easy when unmedicated has done wonders in not exacerbating my eternal stress levels. It already takes me at least one hour to go from “I should get food” to standing up and actually getting food, compounding that executive lag with work is not something I look forward to.

Main thing today is that I finally bit the bait and got Mahjong Souls. And I’m shocked that I actually knew some mahjong already. I never played the minigame in Yakuza, nor did I try it out in FF14, so I can’t help but wonder where the heck I learned to play.

Perhaps reading Saki made something stick with me somehow.

Truly a manga for sickos.

I think the key is that Mahjong isn’t that hard in the end, you can in theory replace the tiles with poker cards and the different hand types with poker names like “three of a kind” to similar though clumsier effect.

Yodobashi Umeda also added this diorama and god Damn they went the extra mile with it.

Speaking of going out, I looked up the original Merlion after talking about it and I was reminded that there’s a Little Mermaid statue in Osaka that I’ve wanted to check for a bit.

Not really anything else to note today though, between having an inverted sleep schedule and doing as little of note as possible on purpose.
