Patreon-core

Today’s deck is The Low Rider Daschund Tarot.

The only thing better than a cute animal deck is when they get very specific about which animal is depicted.

Also, shout outs to this other deck. It’s not a tarot deck and its format doesn’t lend itself to divination, but the fact that it’s basically a flash card deck about mushrooms is super cool.

Anyway, I’ve been thinking lately about the general idea topic of how much works should please the audience and how much they should please the author, and today’s reading feels like it pulled that to the surface… which is funnily enough in the general vein of how my day started.

I woke up seeing one of the people I follow on Patreon basically post something along the lines of “if you don’t see a character in this poll it’s because I’ve ended up drawing the same six characters the past few months” and that made me giggle.

It reminds me of how there’s things I tend to call “Patreon-core”, which is that specific blob of specific characters that end up dominating patreon requests all over the place.

I wonder what you’d call that, by which I mean that it’s not a pet peeve, it’s more of a personal in-joke, like the thing you laugh about with friends but it’s only you.

Anyway, when I left my bed finally, I noticed that my right knee was bothering me. Probably bad sleeping position or something.

The day played out as normal. Japanese lesson and then bar. The day at the bar was also the usual fun. The topic of fortunetelling came up, tarot came up, and I forgot my deck today of all days so that’ll be for next week.

I decided to call it a day kinda early today. Tomorrow is gonna be a long day, but hopefully a fun one.
