Today’s deck is Tarot of the Sorceress.

I’m a sucker for simple outlines and high contrast, and this one delivers on both fronts greatly.
Today’s reading is actually advising to ponder about the thing I talked about the other day regarding relationship concerns, curiously enough.

Another week of Japanese lesson and then it was packing up time with me…
Not before I decided to develop a couple of film rolls, however.
The Half Frame Pentax’s roll got sent to Yodobashi and they told me it’d take two weeks. But E looked up and Camera Kitamura apparently can do that in an hour, and would you look at that there’s a Camera Kitamura across the street from Yodobashi.

I killed time by having an early lunch and checking shops among other things. As good a time as any to sort thoughts and whatnot too.
When the development was done I made my way back home but not before buying some veggies I wanted to pickle while I was out of the house.
Anyway, here’s the results.

Bonus attempt with The Girls.

Now, these photos were taken with the Nikkon F4 so my concerns about it are actually opposite from my concerns with the Pentax. The pentax is mostly automatic when it comes to exposure and the like (it has options, but very limited ones) but you gotta adjust the focus dial, so my concern with that one is how in focus (or out of) the photos will be.
The F4 meanwhile has autofocus (it actually reminds me of my first DSLR of all things) but the exposure and such must be set manually.
E actually explained to me this bit and I understood it in the moment, but it made perfect sense once I saw these results. Basically digital and film photography have two different priorities: With digital you gotta err on the side of making things too bright, while with film you gotta err on the side of making things too dark.
This is because when you’re developing the photos (be it from a negative or a RAW file) they develop in different ways. A RAW you can adjust to salvage the shadows while a negative can be overexposed to salvage the highlights.
Even then, even if a bit overexpopsed, the photos are a mood. The texture of film gives it a vibe that ISO noise can’t compare to.
It’s also nioce to know that all the composition skill I’ve got transfers properly.
That last one sounds obvious, but you never fucking know.
I should get a film scanner…

Anyway, it was travel prep time after I returned.
I’ve kept my camera equipment on a designated drawer(s) lately so that was easy to gather. For clothes I’m erring on the side of packing a single extra shirt and socks and extra underwear.
For girls I’m definitely packing Aurora, since her daughters got to get out for Sakura season. But I wanted to take out a new girl, one of the semi-nameless ones on the shelf.
Here’s an unflattering pic of the one I had in mind while testing some outfits.

N saw her and immediately thought about sea and wind vibes like a mermaid and suggested LAcey because of Lace Murex shells.
I 100% agreed with the vibe but “Lacey” sounded a bit too close to “Lucy” which is another one of the girls. Then I rememebred that the name Madison was popularized by the movie Splash so everyone say hi to Maddie.
If I don’t find her vibes this time, I’ll have Aurora to fall back onto at least.

After spending way too much time looking for a specific bathrobe for the girls, I went to bed. It wouldn’t be a trip if I wasn’t slightly sleep-deprived.
