Return from Ise

Today’s deck is the Japanese Myth Tarot (Full Deck V).

I don’t know what the V is for, I assume it was sold piece by piece and this is the full one.

I really like this deck. For one it actually gives you options for some cards which was something I was thinking about the other day. Some decks I’ve used give you variants for The Lovers so why not give options for other cards?

I also really like the way it plays with its symbolism, with things like The Lovers depicting Izanami and Izanagi reuniting and The Devil being Kagutsuchi separating them.

Also the size is nice, it reminds me a lot of Cardcaptor Sakura cards which are narrower than usual tarot size.

In fact, you wanna know how much I like this deck? I ordered an extra copy to use because I didn’t wanna use one and lose the alts somewhere (or shuffle them in by accident).

Gushing aside, today’s reading speaks of “Pain from needing to make painful choices about incomplete objectives”. It feels like a continuation of yesterday’s reading…

…because it might be. Full disclaimer, I did this reading before sleeping to pack up the deck and mat in my luggage, I’m also finishing up this post the day after the day this post is meant to represent, so present and past tense might be… confusing.

Oh by the way, this Nikke mat is the one I was supposed to get instead of the World End Trigger jacket from a few weeks ago.

So in the end I did end up sleeping what was basically a quick nap. About two hours. Hopefully this will eventually fix my sleep schedule (spoiler: it did).

I kinda regret not having the time to take pics in the balcony bath of the room, but no big deal, I still nabbed some cool pics, including these of Yuuna.

I’m noticing that the key to replicate some of my favorite pics of her (that I still ahve as a wallpaper, even) is to make her cover her mouth but use the fact that it’s open as a way to convey surprise.

I took the Shuttle Bus to the station, no crazy walk in the dark for me this time around. At the station the trains were supposedly delayed in some lines because someone threw themselves in the tracks which is… always ominous. It’s also less common than what it might sound like sometimes but the fact that it happens at all is always food for thought.

On the train I killed time playing phone games while listening to Audiobooks, the usual. Today I finished the first Stay A While And Listen about the release of the first Diablo game. The amount of Gen X Gamer stuff was mercifully small all in all. Hell, I’d even recommend it for gamedevs and especially for people that like Diablo. It includes fun tidbits that might not be obvious at a glance like how Diablo’s preffix/suffix system needs to be adjusted depending on the language.

I’ve brought it up a couple of times, but this is Necromerger, it’s a fun little game about fusing things together to feed a big creature’s cravings. It’s that sort of game that’s just simple enough to be relaxing but stimulating enough to not make you sleep.

Anyway, I mention it now, because I actually started playing it on my first Ise trip last year. For some reason I was bored on the floor of the hotel and downloading random games that Google Play recommended and got to it.

All in all I’d consider this trip a success. I got photos, I got exploration, I saw new places and took nice photos both with and without the girls. There’s always those extra details you miss but oh well.

Next I wanna go to either Nara or Hiroshima on a quick one way trip. Especially since the leaves are changing color faster and faster. One good side effect of not using all the clothes I brought for The Girls is that now I have extra clothes set aside if I wanna use those.

There’s not much novelty beyond this though… thankfully. It’s the first day after a trip so I just wanna decompress.

I tried this DLsite game called One Night~一夜限りの幼妻~. It’s a really good 3D simulator with no real gameplay aside from choosing angles and whatnot. In fact, the angles are really well thought to give you a vibe of peeking in when they’re first selected until you move the camera. It’s actually wild to see the camera being blocked by some leaves and get the impression that it’s on purpose instead of a coding snafu.

But the moment I saw it I thought something else, namely IS THAT SHANGRI-LA DRIVE?????

No, not Shangri-la Frontier… or Harem x Shangri-la for that matter… though I gotta wonder how much that name confusion affected things.

Shangri-la Drive was a Fanza Games mobage that closed earlier this year. I would lament it but to be honest I would only be lamenting it because the 3D animation for the unlockable scenes was top notch. The gameplay…. eh.

When In saw it was closing I was bummed until I realized the game hadn’t hooked me, it just got me on a grind to get to the next porn scene.

Why I bring it up, though?

Because look at that UI.

It might be an engine thing though, kinda like how you know a Unity game by its scrolling windows.

Sidenote, it’s hilarious how Eltrinde was basically just Narmaya Granblue Fantasy.

Speaking of games, Megiddo72 is apparently going to close next year which is a bummer… but they also announced that an offline version is in the works, and like with Megaman X Dive that’s kinda rad.

Megiddo never had any crossover collabs, so I wonder how much those offline versions might be affected by being able (or not) to use licensed material.

No sketch today by the way, too tired for even shape practice.
