Sexy Bookshelf

Today’s deck is The Air Era: Magical Alice Tarot Deck.

So this one isn’t Disney or something more original, it’s basically using the more classic illustrations in the cards and they all look neat, honestly, like a half-collage sort of thing.

By the way, that reminds me that the other day I learned that apparently there was a boom of Narnia stuff in Japan that started in 2013 because that’s when it became public domain here so it was fair game to translate and illustrate. There’s been a manga going on since like 2018 apparently.

“Here” I hear you ask? Apparently it’s NOT public domain in the US where that will lapse in 2045 or so.

Oh yeah, today’s reading is warning to not be too reckless with choosing self-determination over reason. You’ll see where this reading came in relevant in a bit.

You know what I have a problem with? OnlyFans. And I’m not talking from some moral standpoint about the content nor moral stances about the company itself, I’m talking about just the experience of trying to get anything out of it.

Here’s the scenario: You see a girl you like, turns out they have a page where they sell content so you go “I’m gonna give her money and I’ll get at least one piece of content per month”.

That’s the expectation of the transaction, in fact, if you use Fantia that’s the norm. I don’t regret any of the Fantia subs that I have because I know I’ll get AT LEAST one post per month with either photos or videos and move on with my life.

In OnlyFans though? I subscribe to one girl and she spends more time promoting other girls and that’s fine I love creators supporting each other but by volume I end up seeing more of a bunch of other people instead of, you know, the one I’m paying money for.

I subscribe to another one and the next day I wake up with my inbox full of dry shit like
“You’ve been naughty”
“What do you wanna do to me?”
“Will you obey mommy?”

“Mommy” in question being a 20something that’s younger than my younger sister.

One of my favorites was one that sent the same video like twice in the same week but it was attached to this long ass descriptor that was either AI-generated or made by someone whose talents are being wasted being an intern for that chick because whatever descriptor they came up with was better than the video offered… also did not represent the video offered in any shape or form.

I’m not even gonna get into the thing where it’s never the girl trying to initiate that sexting but someone else they’re associated with because the point is that the expectation with the transaction is not being met and I feel like I wasted my money.

And mind you, it’s not like Fantia doesn’t have that happening because I’ve seen plenty of creators that make you pay a sub and then make you buy the video because the sub gave only a teaser BUT THAT’S STILL MORE CONTENT BEING PROVIDED MY MAN.

And what annoys me is the fact that the model persists because it works because dudes have no sense with money. They either keep throwing money to an egirl that released a video one time and has someone else sext with them, or they think people don’t deserve to make a living with that sort of thing and beg for someone to leak the content.

You can all keep fighting for the rights of sex workers on the higher levels of things, I’ll remain on the consumer side of things cheering you on and hoping that improves somehow.

As it’s tradition, when I rant about inane things like these it’s because there was nothing much going on in the day.

The lastest Digimon TCG expansion had codes you can put in a website to try and win a limited Omegamon card so I spent like hour and a half or so inputting like 64 individual 16-digit codes into the Cardass website. The main thing that annoyed me was that…

Ok so it was one of those things where they divide the code into 4-digit chunks, but the input in the website is ALSO in 4-digit chunks, so when you input the 5th it doesn’t automatically move onto the next input field, you gotta MANUALLY shift to the next one.

Granted, “manually” means “press tab” instead of clicking manually, but it was still way too much of a hassle in terms of UX.

The main thing today was me sorting things and looking at bookshelves more to see if there were any interesting options.

And there are.

I’m eyeing this one specifically. So let me hit you with some math.

Most of my bookshelves are 90cm wide, in two halves of 45cm each (not exactly, but let’s pretend for a moment it’s exact for the sake of the numbers)

Let’s say that I get the model of that bookshelf that’s 64cm wide (it’s the same but it has two slim ones instead of one). That means I could fit three of them in the space of two of my current bookshelves (with around 12cm extra accounted for) while having the book space of FOUR AND A HALF of the current bookshelves.

Now, this math isn’t exact, even outside of how it’s not exactly 45cm of usable book space, the books you can fit in the slim cabinet are gonna be different from the ones in the wide cabinet. The slim is about 17cm deep which is the standard size for “manga and media”, while the wider one is 24cm which is the standard for “big books”.

I would need to give heavy consideration to the books to be housed, but I DO like the form factor of these a LOT.

So you remember today’s reading? It actually came to mind when I almost pressed buy on one of them just to have the test run but I decided “they’re not going anywhere, let’s finish sorting things before I do anything too crazy”.

But the plan IS there.

Hyperfocus then kicked in and I had to drag my body to bed while brain was still staring at the pile of Things To Sort as if willing itself to have energy it wasn’t there.
