Today’s deck is the Steampunk Art Noveau Tarot.
I really love the art in this one, which makes it extra sad that the backs aren’t symmetrical.
So you know how I talked in my goals post (a goalpost if you will) a couple of days ago about being more comfortable with myself and stuff? Today’s reading feels like a congratulation for that. Between yesterday and today like the cards are going “congrats on setting healthier boundaries… and ALSO on not feeling guilty for indulging even inside your own head about stuff you thought ‘dangerous’”.
Woke up super late and lazy. It was also snowing so if I headed out I had to really think about it.
One thing I was realizing was that I should’ve gotten one of those hydrophobic sprays but for clothing. My shoes have been perfectly fine, but I was noticing that compared to others, the snow got stuck to me more than other people I saw walking around… then again I also wearing a feather-filled fabric jacket instead of a more plastic one.
I got the shoes right this time, I’ll get the jacket right next time.
Speaking of next time, I decided what my next trip was gonna be, but we’ll get there.
For now, I decided to go out with Tama and Oh My God I’ve found her vibe. In fact not only did I find her vibe but I went “next time I HAVE to take her out with this other doll” and in the process I thought up where to go next time.
If I had to describe Tama’s vibe, it’s one that’s… not fully “boyish” but rather “boyish relative to other girls she frequents”.
In other words, she’s the Uma Musume Mejiro Palmer of every ocassion.
Between this and that and a bit of everything else, when I got back to dry myself up I decided I wanted another go at a snow place, so I decided to look up other snowy spots or events and I learned about the “Otaru Snow Light Path” in Hokkaido, an event that takes place from around February 10th until the 15th or something like that.
So that’s my next trip, though it won’t be at the end of January or start of February so there’s gonna be more time between trips… which might be welcome if I wanna forcus on sorting my place.
Eventually I needed food so I decided to try the nearby ski resort’s food court and they had a Pulled Pork and Fries that was honestly amazing.
I took these pics later at night and I’m so happy with the results, especially comparing them to last year’s attempts at pics in the snow.
Here’s a comparison with Nadeshiko from February of last year in similar conditions with a similar idea.
Snow is tricky. During daytime it gives you a free light light diffusser all around you, but at night it EATS light like it’s nobody’s business, the reflection also makes it look like you used a less subtle spotlight or something.
I’ve got tomorrow left here, so the trip is winding down.
I’ve been happy with the results, you can tell because the incident in New Year’s didn’t sour the experience.
It also helps that most of the families with little kids that stayed here those first two days left so the hotel has been quiet and I don’t have to sleep with my headphones because of the noise isolation.
No, really, that’s one thing I had to do.
