Sometimes the curtains aren’t actually red

Today’s deck is the Dark Wood Tarot.

Could’ve sworn I’ve used this one. It’s good though! It’s one of those with creepy vibes but I dig the artstyle of this one.

Today’s reading invites reflection that any peace I feel is the result of having actually taken steps in asking for help.

Which… yeah.

Well, I didn’t wake up with roiling boiling anger that kills all pathogens and makes water drinkable… not today at least.

I did wake up, however, directly to do the thing I didn’t do yesterday upon returning.

BEHOLD Halloumi’s new fit.

My curtains aren’t actually red by the way, they’re black. But because the sun blasts directly at this time of year they look like that.

The insulation in my place is actually decent enough that I’ve had to turn on the AC because the heat from the day doesn’t escape so it gets to like 27 degrees inside while it’s like 15 outside

So with Halloumi all set I put the camera and such to charge up and was thinking about where to go.

I considered waiting until tomorrow since I’m going to the dentist and one of my usual photo spots is nearby. But then I remembered the Yodo River…

By that point of the day I was ever so slightly sleepy, but I wanted to push my sleep schedule forwards so I decided to do a bit of location scouting.

In my experience there’s two vantage points in the area I could use. There’s one in one of the formal (rather than improvised) entrances to the river, and there’s a few stairs I could use.

I’ve tried the stairs and they’re tricky. There’s a better chance with the entrance thingy, but the space to prop the girls is a bit slimmer.

I then remembered a guy I saw yesterday with a cart that included camera equipment, and the idea that I could find some kind of table and bring it with me came up.

I know the area well enough, but I decided to run a general refresher.

The main problem is related to the lighting. While the city in the distance looks super cool, things on my side would be very dark, and this is a problem because I would need longer exposures.

You’d think putting lights on the forefront or using my flash would fix that, but all it does is make it so the subject looks as if in a black void.

Trust me, I’ve run plenty of experiments in the past.

So in the end the plan to do that after I’m out of the dentist remains.
