Stamp Stamp Stamp

Today’s deck is the Frida Kahlo Tarot.

It is histerical. The Registered symbol besides Frida Kahlo is already funny, but then the backs are the most uninspired ones I’ve seen in a while and believe you me I’ve seen a few tarot card backs.

Today’s reading felt to me like it’s advising me to not keep quiet if my feet are being stepped on (proverbially or otherwise).

OKAY BUT FOR REAL I CLOSED THE LAST POST WITH A THROWAWAY LINE BUT POPURA TANESHIMA IS RESPONSIBLE FOR AWAKENING THINGS IN A WHOLE GENERATION OF SICKOS AND THIS FEELS LIKE A VERY UNDERSTATED THING SOMEHOW.

Then again, her proportions in the manga weren’t THAT exaggerated… they sure felt like it back in 2010 for me though.

Something else I forgot to mention yesterday was that the thing with my phone turning off on its own got to the point where yesterday alone I had to turn it back on like FIVE times, at one point it turned off back to back THREE TIMES.

Anyway, I’ve been waiting for a bank application to finish… or at least Continue, and I had a feeling in my gut of guts that I would hear from the today because as the regulars of the blog know, I SUFFERED bank nonsense all of last year and the only consistent thing about it was that they only replied on Fridays.

Oh hey, an email by the bank on Friday 11AM, how convenient!

It was just to call them from the company’s phone, routine stuff, so I figured it was as good a time as any for the work day to begin.

The call went… okay, not smoothly but could’ve been worse. The biggest hurdle was this one time where they asked me about a みつもり, an “estimate”. So I cycled through a couple of company estimates until the operator clarified she meant the estimate I sent as proof of business.

Also, the volume on the phone was very small? Specifically I used a remote receiver type of thing so I wonder if the volume of it is configured on the base phone or what.

They told me there was a document they needed by next week and I was like sure. Basically the application I sent them lacked stamping in a couple of fields.

I had a minor crisis because one of the things they asked was a 実印, and when I looked it up to confirm it gave me the impression that they needed my personal stamp, which would be an issue because I can never find the damn thing to the point I was assuming a worst case scenario of needing to make a new one and register it on Monday at municipality.

Regardless, I figured I’d need the rest of the day to handle the situation so I cancelled my Japanese lesson for today.

With that done, I had a bit more time and while running scenarios through my head I could feel I was pushing myself into an unflexible corner, so I stood up and went to the grocery store to clear my head a little.

While I was at it, some clarity did come back. First of all it would be weird for them to ask me for me personal stamp on a company thing. And I also thought that hey, worst case scenario I fill it wrong and that gives me one extra week to find or register the damn thing while they tell me to please send a fixed version.

So after returning I actually checked the form with clearer eyes and while there’s the usual field to stamp with the company stamp, the others aren’t circles to be filled, it’s more like “please use here the stamp you want to register with us”.

For context, some companies do keep different stamps for different matters. For example, if there’s an accounting arm in the company you can give them a specific stamp that has authority over bank transactions but not say… contracts, or deliverable approval.

We’re a small operation though, so just using a single stamp is more convenient.
