Take it RAW

Today’s deck is the Cozy Witch Tarot Deck.

I don’t have the energy to be snarky about this one. This would be a lovely gift for a little girl interested in tarot. I love how instead of a meanings cheat sheet they have small quotes that give you an idea about the card.

Today’s reading warns that exhaustion might set in and I might miss chances because of it but that I should remain dilligent nonetheless.

This can apply to appointments as well as personal growth type stuff.

I was dreaming today that I slept badly.

Like, I thought I was in my usual “didn’t fall into deep sleep proper so now I’m spinning in bed trying to reclaim an hour or two of rest” bullshit… And then turns out it was a dream and I still didn’t sleep properly.

It’s kinda weird though, I also woke up at like 2PM when by all metrics I should’ve slept until like 5pm.

After a couple of hours of dial up noises I actually headed out to buy my pills. I did set up an appointment with my chiropractor finally.

If you haven’t heard me talk about that much in this blog it’s because life has been kinda chaotic but my back and heels are starting to give me shit again.

They told me at the pharmacy my number would come up in roughly an hour so I decided to go eat at Yodobashi in the meantime.

I eventually got my stuff and I also took the chance to buy a new foundation brush and Gilette razors.

By then it was like 6 something so I started walking towards Shinsaibashi to go to Evil again. And I finally found a good photo spot for Flare!

By the way, here’s a good example of what RAW editing can do.

So, the short of it is that a RAW file is basically a… raw or direct interpretation of what the camera sensor captures. Basically each point isn’t a pixel, it’s more information about light captured. As such the way that a RAW is edited is not only nondestructive (you can make the image illegible and still revert it to default with the same file), but it’s just… different.

Which brings me to this example, where all I did was change the white balance option, which is a setting the camera has, and because what gets registered in the file is not individual color pixels but a bunch of other info (including where the camera was focusing, incidentally), it’s roughly the same as if you had taken the photo with a different setting. So long as you’re fine with the stuff on the lens and flash side of things, every other setting is super easy to edit.

Afterwards I walked to the bar. A slight bummer was that part of The Thing today was that someone else in the staff was gonna be there before going to study abroad, but they were feeling sick so it was business as usual. A nice night with a couple of drinks.

Thank God I had therapy later in the day because being social has been… uh… unraveling Things in my head.

Long story short, there was a period of time where I was being treated in a way where I was made to feel guilty for wanting companionship and “bothering” others with me feeling lonely. That cauterized a little into not wanting to depend on others ever.

So having a nice hole in the wall where the option to hang out in for a little has been tantamount in my brain to like… rubbing an old wound on something by accident and it opening back up again.

I’ll be fine, I’ll survive. This is just something that I knew was long overdue but didn’t expect it would be this easy to resurface.

After all of that I crashed on bed assuming my day would end… but it turned into a 2 hour nap instead.

Oh well, time to dissociate for a couple of hours while my body finally catches a break.
