Today’s deck is The Sacred Sisterhood Tarot (Deck and Guidebook For Fierce Women).

You know, I might throw jabs at these sorts of Sis decks (get it, “Sis”, because it’s the opposite of Bro) but they’re consistently more usable than cutesy decks I’ve used.
Also, just in case, I should clarify that my disdain for this sort of thing isn’t rooted in mysoginy specifically, I have a disdain for anything that’s so… Strongly Gendered as it were. I’ve brought the example in the past of trying to look for woodcarving resources and being annoyed that most of it reeks instead of whatever the opposite end of the gender spectrum decks like these are in.
I’m not gonna really rain on their parade as long as they’re not throwing punches unwarrantedly though. If the Bro obsessed with beard care and making emergency matches for camping with ever-increasingly convoluted uses for vaseline agrees that Trans Rights are Human Rights then he’s cool with me.
Today’s reading feels like a slight rephrasing of the trend this past few days: “Duty is getting in the way of nurturing”. It’s like as the days go on the message of “all work and no play makes Fer a dull boy” keeps being peeled off into its barest rawest essentials.

My mood was better today, but where bad mood left exhaustion and inflammation rushed in.
So, I forget if I’ve told this story before (probably did, but eh) but basically during my first semester of college we went on a… school-mandated trip to a country club with a bunch of pools because colleges have to have a minimum of basic curriculum no matter the subject which meant I was seeing PE and math for the first semester of Graphic Fucking Design, and in case PE wasn’t already clearly a throwaway, the teacher went “yeah come to this trip and that counts for your grade”.
Anyway, that trip left me with a nasty ear infection that wasn’t addressed for years, and even when it was addressed the first time around it was with an ENT that decided to first focus on how I needed to get my nose operated on WHEN ALL I NEEDED WAS MY FRIGGIN’ EARS CHECKED. And then when she did I got a bunch of ear drops and other stuff that only made the infection worse.
Long story short, ever since then stress hits my ears making them itchy (infection or not), and especially in the winding down of really stressful periods (like getting my visa renewed) they get really bad.
So anyways, I was already predictably tired from everything and having my ear in pain and being unable to lay on one side of the bed sure didn’t help.
As such, aside from doing some paperwork and some cleaning, there’s not much else to point out today, seeing as I was mainly laying in bed dissociating with my phone. So here’s a few random decks I didn’t plan on using for daily readings that I hadn’t brought up before.

This one just said “Anime Tarot” but turned out to be a Genshin one… I actually had already showcased one of these ages ago, but this is like, a properly-cut version of that one.

Speaking of which, there’s this HSR one that has the shoddy cutting of the other Genshin one I mentioned.
You know, browsing these two decks it has dawned on me how very little of either Genshin or HSR has stuck in my brain. Which is wild because Mihoyo games are like Shonen Jump flavor of the month anime in how they’re just prime Patreon Fodder where 90% of people that make a living with subscriptions services like those draws a bunch of characters from it and I cannot for the life of me point at a character and tell you which game they’re from because they all blend into that specific “smoothened to a mirror sheen” school of design.
This isn’t even me being a hater (trust me, you’ll know when I’m being an actual hater), I just find it legitimately amazing how very little of either has stuck with me despite the fact that I’ve been BOMBARDED with both against my will for years.

I kept getting Learning Decks in Japanese so I wanted to check one in english out of curiosity. While the meanings are handy and having a tagline for each card IS good, it also just has a lot of extra… noise, like whether the card means yes or no, the card being assigned to a specific chakra, stuff like that which honestly if you’re just learning is gonna be more harmful than useful.
Also only the major arcana have those taglines on the side and I’d argue that you need them more with everything BUT the major arcana.
I’m also at the point of things where the cards have specific meanings to me that differ ever so slightly from whatever these say.

This one is a neat novelty where all the cards are super shiny but is otherwise a normal deck in the end.

I got this one at Melonbooks, it’s just the major arcana but LOOK AT THOSE HOLO EFFECTS MAN.

Speaking of Holo, there’s this one with lenticular effects. I like that all the cards are original 3D renders so The Tower is being hit with a Gundam’s beam cannon instead of lightning.

Finally, this one with cats and owls. I love the stained glass designs.

Not really much else to report, for better or worse. Just getting some much needed rest today.
