This warning only begets more questions

Today’s deck is the Winter Magic Tarot.

You see the style, you know what that means…!

Okay NOW I’ve used all four seasons from this manufacturer. I think last time Ithought about a Christmas one instead of a winter one.

Today’s reading is advising to invest more (either literally or figuratively) on my relations with others.


The two main priorities today were receiving a package and picking up my prescription.

So at the start I idled about in the house expecting the mailman to arrive, but when the “12PM to 2PM” window passed I was like “wait… did I even put the redelivery order to begin with?”.

I checked my mailbox, there was no redelivery slip. So I probably THOUGHT about it and then forgot.

Ah well.

I had a healthy amount of time to kill so I figured I can heed the reminder I got yesterday about physical activity improving my mood and go to the gym.

The weather was ass but fuck that, the momentum must be used.

I took the chance to buy a new pair of gloves. Sadly they didn’t have the ones Ryu uses in Jetman.

This will not deter me in my path to dress like a Heisei toku protagonist.

Since it’s been so long I did a little bit of every exercise group, in part to assess my general state.

I was able to last 10 minutes in the cardio machine no problem. Empty barbell took me a little bit of effort. 5KG dumbells were fine but I could feel the muscles… waking up as it were. Same with back exercises. Legs were shockingly fine, however.

It definitely checks out in general with the pattern of like… carryong heavy stuff and walking a lot. It’s not like I couldn’t lift the heavier dumbells for example, but the important thing is doing exercises right.

You know, that’s definitely an interesting shift I’ve had in general over the years. The first time I went to the gym was in high school, then I started going again as one of the first things I did after I got my visa in 2019. At that point the self-hate that I had, that anguish of Never Being Enough definitely pushed me to do the exercises in… not really the wrong way, but not the right way either.

Another interesting shift is that back then I was frustrated at my inability to bulk up and nowadays I actually prefer to remain slim.

When the exercise was done I was hungry so I went to the Yodobashi foodcourt to get some Yakisob-NEVERMIND the renewal hit that part of the court. Fine. Steak it i-FUCK THE ONE I WANTED IS GONE. Thankfully there’s anothersteak place I could go to.

By the time I finished my meal it was the time for my appointment so I got my prescription, left it at the pharmacy, and I’ll pick it up tomorrow.

I was still feeling fine, though. So I decided to work for a bit after returning, which you can check in the latest devlog.

A funny detail is that right after writing that, the walk back made me realize I had a bad case of tunnel vision and there’s an even better solution… but I’ll deal with that later.

Honestly, it was a shockingly productive day which is extra noteworthy considering the weather was ASS.
