Time drifting

Day started at 10PM let’s gooooooooooooooo.

Today’s deck is the Cats Rule The Earth Tarot.

I’ts honestly a great starter set for a newbie, the only problem I have is that the booklet it includes tends to depict the reversed cards as almost exclusively negative in meaning.

Today’s reading feels like it’s reflecting back at me the usual choice paralysis I get with my own self-expression.

It’s UNCANNY how many times I’ve gotten Reversed Hierophant across different decks, honestly.

I decided to start cleaning the cold weather clothes in advance and I definitely need a wardrobe refresh, I threw away a LOT of Uniqlo shirts that have seen better days, had sweat stains, or shrank from back when I had to use a coin laundry.

The thing I always look forward to the most with the colder weather is that I can use a jacket which means extra pockets.

TGS is close by (in fact I’ll be heading out that way tomorrow) and while I’m not the biggest fan of big events or crowds, TGS is special to me because my first trip to Japan was for TGS 2017.

It was just a week of travel but so many experiences happened at once that I remember by the third day it already felt like two weeks, so much overstimulation…

The smell of oden in particular got burned in my brain in association with that.

Another thing I was remembering was this one time the police stopped me here in Japan. That unto itself isn’t that weird, especially in spring when there’s a lot of new recruits they’re asked to question a certain amount of people around.

The one incident I was remembering though, it was in 2020… I was still talking with the ex-friend I bring up a lot, and it was at the very least in the latter half of the year because I already moved to my current place and also I was coming back from my Gym which means it was that period where things slowly reopened.

Two policemen were asking me questions of where I had been and such because apparently there had been a couple of robberies of the “pull thing while on a bike” variety.

To be fair they were polite, I didn’t feel threatened and they even told me WHY they were questioning me and that I should be careful myself.

Then I went back home and next thing I know a whole week passed and I never left my apartment in that week.

You see, part of the reason why I moved to Japan was because it felt like Venezuela’s unsafety was catching up to me no matter how low a profile I kept, and a big factor on that feeling was police extortion.

So despite the two cops being polite and all, that whole trauma just resurfaced and I was blindsided (to be fair I was in a bad mental state in general anyways). The worst of it was one point where I didn’t have the mental fortitude to go out and take the trash so I put it in my balcony, next thing I know the balcony was full of maggots. And I learned about that because when I finally had the mental strength to go out for a moment, I saw a note in my mailbox of the janitor being like “have you seen these white things in your own balcony?” and that’s when I realized what happened.

When I say I was at my lowest, boy do I mean it.

Not many novelties beyond that today though…

OH RIGHT! I paid for the printing of photobooks for an October 6th event, so I have that to look forward to.
