Today’s deck is the Fantasy Night Theater Deck.

It’s REALLY good, so much so that it’s a bit of a shame I’m not more into the theater aesthetic.
Today’s reading is a celebration of expanding horizons through self-control.

Both E and I woke up later than usual groaning. Am I exerting myself too much?
Nah…
One bit I forgot to mention yesterday was that she changed the channels of the wifi in my apartment and due to a number of reasons she explained to me but I’m not confident enough about repeating it fixed the signal in my iphone not working in some rooms.
Today I started thinking about the fact that my toilet seat’s bidet function didn’t work (it hasn’t since I moved to my place). And while thinking about it, E pointed out that basically the rods that are supposed to come out and spray water weren’t coming out because the area was blocked with sediment… and if it hasn’t worked since I moved in, it was probably like that for a while.

OH RIGHT I also forgot to mention one small funny detail: So yesterday we’re waiting for a cab and while waiting I asked E if she wanted her jacket back (I put it in my backpack), she says that sure but it’s so cumbersome to take out the cab will surely show up while my hands are tied with that.
I go “if it means I summon a cab…” and A CAB LITERALLY SHOWED UP WHEN I OPENED MY BACKPACK.
It was occupied, sadly, BUT STILL.
I tried to do some paperwork but the company’s bank has decided to become an even bigger hassle and doesn’t let me check bank history any further back than three months, so I gotta go to a fucking branch to solve that.
I should finish the paperwork to change banks, this is getting silly…

Eventually we headed out to the aquarium, the Kaiyukan. I hadn’t been in the area in a hot minute so I was surprised to see that they finally added the new station to the Expo site.

It’s my first time going there despite the fact that I’ve been in the area plenty of times in the past. It’s super cool because you basically start at the top and then look at the tanks while you go down, giving you a good look of all the layers of the exhibits.

There was an exhibit of jellyfish near the end that was super rad too.

Other highlights include an exhibit on restoring the great coral reef, one about expeditions into the arctic, and also an enclosure with penguins that weren’t behind a tank… though with the smell they had I sure wish they did……

All through it E and I took the stamp rally at the aquarium but like… for ourselves. We were probably the oldest people using those stamps. There were other adults but we certainly looked older.
There was the souvenir shop at the end and I was really happy to see the famous Kaiyukan seal plushies. The only bummer was that by the time we arrived at the cafeteria inside the aquarium they had closed.

There was also a SECOND souvenir shop but this one was open to everyone and OH GOD THEY HAVE COOL ROCKS. They even have like EIGHT different commemorative medals, I was grinning like an idiot all the way.

We were HUNGRY but I just HAD to take pics of Midori with the Tempozan wheel on the back. I tried that last year but the angle wasn’t right.

The night ended with us getting drunk at Toriki because shockingly, we’ve done very little Izakaya nonsense so far.
OH and before I forget, today’s bit of backlog was me putting the camera on the window while on the way to Ise.
