Very Tabbed Out

Today’s deck is the Hedgewitch Tarot.

If I had one thing to complain about, it would be that the color scheme for this one makes my eyes glaze over in such a specific way that I’m willing to say it’s a me problem.

Today’s reading points to frustrations that The Struggle Isn’t Over and I can’t do much about it… except being patient.

Good news! I got my pills and I won’t need to ration them.

First thing I did today was go for a new prescription, and when I commented that I was there because the last one expired, the doctor was like “Oh yeah, stock should be normalizing” and pointed me to a pharmacy really close to the clinic.

Apparently, the pharmacy in question is associated with the clinic. It’s a night clinic so sometimes the pharmacies are closed by the time the patient is out, but this one closes at 11PM and I’m assuming specializes in stuff for the mental clinic and such.

Alternatively, it’s possible that stock started normalizing right after my prescription expired which is a very me thing to happen, admittedly.

But I have my meds so I can’t really complain.

I took it relatively easy today and didn’t go to the office. It was deliberate because even though I woke up on a Monday that’s immediately rolling over into Tuesday, my mind is still stuck in Sunday.

The progress in sorting things around also wasn’t as super pronounced as other days, but that’s fine.

I think I talked ages ago about a light novel called Goetia Shock? It’s fine, it’s basically about hackers in a world where the cyberspace bleeds into the real world but it’s all magic-themed. It’s also erotica, I mainly got it because it was illustrated by Okuma Nekosuke of Shinmai Maou no Testament fame.

I bring it up because a manga released and I kinda like it, mainly because more of the main character’s personality comes through, though I will admit that it being illustrated by someone else was a bit dissapointing. The mangaka in the task is great mind you, it’s just the “oh I thought I’d get more of the original illustrator” sort of thing.

But in thinking that I realized that Okuma Nekosuke wouldn’t fit as well for a manga. I don’t doubt they’d be able to if presented with the task, mind you, the point is more that their style is clearly more oriented towards big sprawling illustrations as opposed to economized expression for when you gotta draw a gazillion things.

This in turn made me think about other illustrators I love that I’d love to see more of in a similar way but I realized they specialize in other things.

And it sounds very obvious when said out loud, but it’s easy to forget that even within specific fields there can be even narrower specializations. Just like how an illustrator might be good for sprawling illustrations they might not be as good for key art or character design. A mangaka might specialize in action rather than gags. Hell, there’s a notorious recent how to draw book made by one of Yu-Gi-Oh’s animators that’s exclusively about hands.

No bigger realizations, really. I also didn’t do that much work-wise outside of setting up the delivery of a thing to the office.
