Today’s deck is the Chou Chou Tarot (repeat).

I was gonna write that it was cute but I thought the character ws a bear, then I felt a deja vu and yeah, I already used this one before. Both impressions were consistent, though.
Today’s reading advises that now’s the time to think about what I wanna do, while also advising to not get TOO stuck on the thought process.

So today I got a letter in the mail telling me my application for a debit card got rejected.
This would be annoying/frustrating/sad on its own already, but then they had a handy list in english on the back for potential reasons why my application got rejected. It can be summarized as:
- You already have a debit card, fool.
- You already have a credit card, you absolute buffoon.
- You’re not a taxable entity.
- You have literally any account other than the one you already have.
- Your visa is less than one year from expiring.
Gee, I wonder which one it is.
For some reason the fact that they didn’t tell me directly and instead they give me a list where one is the obvious reason makes it all extra frustrating somehow.
Now here’s the bit I don’t fully understand: I have an account with them, a debit card is literally “let me use my own money without taking out my money physically”, it’s not credit or anything so then why be so picky about it?
Despite my cynicism on the matter, I have this pet theory that it’s because they cannot issue cards under certain amount of time or something dumb like that.
I mean, my Paypay cards, useless as they are because I only have a 30.000 yen monthly limit, do have a 5 year expiration date, so I don’t see the problem. They can already freeze my account until I send them my new residence cards, why can’t they also freeze the card?
It’s kinda like how insistent the government is on foreigners having corporate insurance when thw whole point of it is that you pay less. You’d think they’d want you to pay more.
I might be missing some detail tho, dunno.

On the life front, V and I went to Cocoichi to get some curry and man it’s been A While since I last went to Cocoichi. We had the Shrimp Curry which was nice.
I spent the rest of my day clearing up some parts of the apartment… then noticed a bunch of missed calls from my landlady. She just wanted to give me the counterstamped lease contract but I was so distracted through the day that I didn’t see her calling from midday onwards.

In a rare W for Fer, however, I found a whole bag of my meds I hadn’t opened which means my chances to push through the shortage have improved.
Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that, but it’s a bit of a relief.
