Today’s deck is the Romantic Tarot.

There was a black cat one I almost used but it was clearly AI-generated. I’m permissive about all the cards having the same cat because that can be a style thing, but I’ve seen “thing with the number 8 on it surrounded by 8 swords” enough to identify something prompt-generated. And in every single case it’s baffling and telling that nobody sees anything wrong with that.
…oh right, today’s deck. It’s good! Though me pointing out “Romance as in love not as in the literary movement” is my personal “Frankenstein was the doctor”.
I’ve been kinda stuck because despite having funds at hand sending money overseas is a bit of a process, so today’s reading feels like an extension of that feeling.

Another day starting straight into an appointment. In this case I had the Hello Work people (yes, the same ones from Yakuza 7) coming to the office.
Long story short I’ve been working on finally getting my company benefits going (everyone else but me had them) and since it’s not normal for the CEO to not be enrolled they just wanted to check there wasn’t any funny business.
They saw all the files with tax declarations and even took a photo of the valhalla merchandise as evidence of our activities, which is really amusing to me.
I was SHOCKED at how much Japanese I understood. And whenever I got confused, our social worker would basically repeat the same but in simpler wording.

Back to the “normal for a CEO” part. There’s plenty of things that are… weird but make more sense with the right perspective.
For example, it’s not a good look if the CEO has a lower salary than other employees… but then you consider things like tax brackets or how much you can write off as a CEO as company expenses and the potential for weird tax shenanigans shows itself.
Am I saying it’s correct? No, and I don’t wanna get sidetracked with the morals of owning a corporate entity here. What I’m saying is that there’s a traceable line of logic if nothing else.
I did wonder for the longest time why Hello Work, the unemployment people, were involved in this… and then I had the very obvious realization that it’s the company that people go to looking for work, but also companies go there looking for employees.

There wasn’t much else today otherwise… I did get back to writing the next Forsaken Gaia chapter though, so hopefully that releases before the year ends.
