Today’s deck is the Dark Fairytale Tarot

Stylish deck with lovely photo collages.
Today’s reading advises to err on the side of balance when faced with choices in order to last longer on the road which is… prescient with today, actually.

We’re out to Yoshino!
…eventually.
I dragged my ass out of bed and E woke up nauseous, but we made it out before noon which was the whole point since the trip is like two hours.
It’s a single train from Tennoji to Yoshino, though Google Maps did try to betray me and we went out the train before going back in again because I wasn’t supposed to change trains.

About two hours later we make it and this sure quite crowded for backwater boonies in the mountains.
Really pretty though, but we didn’t really have any specific goal in mind.

For the time being we went up the cable car, looked as good a starting point as any. It was small and even had the worker making sure it was balanced with the people inside.

After reaching the top I suggested getting lunch. Food was great. I had “Soba with wild veggies” and you know it’s the real deal because the veggies in question looked like stalks and stems I couldn’t quite identify but damn they were tasty.

We kept going up and one very curious thing is how we were basically walking by people’s houses through it.

I stopped to assess what route we were taking when we made it to a big torii and realized that if we kept walking we’d make it to Yoshino temple. It looked like a cool hiking trail where you go from the temple to there, but the plan today wasn’t that type of hike so we made our way back.
Though rather than taking the cable car down, we just took the regular way down instead.

Not like the trail before dind’t have any sakura, but this is where it felt like “Now THIS is the view I was promised”.
On the way back I noticed an old lady decided to go downhill by walking backwards a couple of steps and it’s the second time I see someone do that, making me wonder if it’s something spiritual or it’s easier on their knees or something.
Also, it wasn’t until I saw a souvenir shop with a lot of wooden crafts that I realized “Oh, Yoshino, like the tree…”.
We had to wait for the train a little and when it arrived it was PACKED.
Thank God we found a seat immediately because not only was the train crammed for like 60% of the road, we were TIRED.

We had extra plans like me going elsewhere for photos with the girls since I brought Poppy and Dahlia with me but there were no good vantage points, and maybe hitting a bar. But as we were having dinner we felt the exhaustion hit us like a truck.
We arrived and… while not IMMEDIATELY, almost immediately passed out.
