Today’s deck is the Easy Flow Tarot.

It’s cute! Not much I can add to that, though.
Today’s reading , like the others lately, tells of monetary balance and I feel like it’s all different facets of us investing into a TGS booth and the part of my brain that sees the amount of money spent balking ever so slightly.

It’s August 13th which means illustrators are catering to me more than usual.
The thing I was thinking about today was something else though… in the midst of everything else, I mean.
I follow a few doll accounts on insta, and something I’ve noticed, especially with the English-speaking ones, is that there’s this pattern where there seems to be more concern with “membership” into a hobby than the hobby itself.
It’s very specific but I think most of you will know what I mean. It’s one thing to like something and meet people because you like the thing, but then some people treat being into the thing as like… their membership card into a physical space.
For dolls specifically, I see a few talk about “the hobby” and “the people in the hobby” as if “the hobby” is a physical room. And while most of them engage with the hobby their own way, there’s a few that I only see post in a way where it kinda feels like they bought a doll just to be part of a country club or something.
It’s not exclusive to that space mind you, I always think about the people that feel the need to publicly “retire” from talking about a thing or playing a game.

Far be it from me to tell people how to spend their free time, of course. It’s just such a… fascinating tendency to fall into.
