Today’s deck is the Runway 78 Fashion Tarot.

Despite the name, being a Deckstiny offering means it has 80 cards. No squirrels this time though, the two extra cards are modeled after Pamela Colman Smith and Arthur Edward Waite of Every Tarot Deck fame.
So today’s reading says something along the lines of “you’ve worked hard you deserve nice things” and it reminds me that yesterday with all the throat pain I kept thinking “this better be karmic balance for something good to come”.

The good news is that my throat has been healing and it’s no longer killing me.
The bad news is that I cannot ship my bags to the hotel, though that one’s actually kinda interesting.
You see, the mailman arrived and he gives me all these limitations with regards to what can be shipped where in the past I was able to just… send my shit no problem. I sent my shit from Hokkaido (which is an island) and from Ise (straight from the hotel). But now there were… basically they were limiting everything in a way that made it look more like I was sending something by plane.
Because as it turns out I kinda was?
I was using Yamato Transport, and as he explained to me, from anywhere to anywhere there would be no problem EXCEPT for Okinawa, where they send things via plane.
What this means is that the limitations to contents like no lithium batteries was in effect, in contrast to the last two times where I sent cameras and a bunch of other battery-having THINGS.
While this is a bummer, another way to look at it is that… I already have everything packed in advance. I also kinda wonder if maybe it’s a Yamato thing, I should check the other usual suspects and how they send things to Okinawa.
The other thing is also that luggage limits are basically the same anyways whenever you send stuff (tl;dr: anything above 160cm total and/or over 30kgs requires specialized couriers, the weird ones with no automatic redelivery that force to make a phone call) so even on that front I’m fine.
HOWEVER, I might need to make a very small recalculation: Souvenir space.
This has been my bane for years and it always sneaks up on me. I get overexcited buying souvenirs and next thing I know I’ve got no spare space.
It’s easy, just gotta recalculate and economize a bit. For example, I wanted to be silly and play around with my telescopic lens, but I’ll leave that for another time. I packed two of my film cameras but I’ll take just one instead. Stuff like that where the extra wiggle room of not carrying the luggage around gave me license to be silly.

It was also a realization that came AFTER the mailman dropped by, so maybe it’s all playing out like this for a reason…
