Today’s deck is the Black Cat Tarot.

I’m gonna be honest, when I think Black Cat I think Blob or Kentaro Yabuki and this is uncomfortably neither. It’s functional, though.
Today’s reading specifies that self-care is the way out of inner turmoil.

Reading is relevant because GOD my mood is dogshit ass today. I don’t even feel like elaborating on why because it’s nothing new, it’s The Usual Grievances and the fact that they’re The Usual builds a spiral where my mood worsens realizing I’m repeating myself.
So let’s talk manga.

Here’s a quick lightning round. This is a container I filled yesterday right before sleeping and forgot to get into too much detail about.
Nanoha Force, Tokyo Babylon, and Rockman Exe (AKA Megaman Battle Network) don’t need much of an intropduction I think.
Nick and Lever is a madcap surreal comedy based around two foreigners in Japan that I fully recommend.
Zenbu Kimi no Sei (Always because of you) is a romance story about a couple where both sides suffer from a condition where they change gender when they get excited. It’s super fascinating because you’ve got two characters that are fundamentally the same throughout but between chapters it might be a boy/girl relationship, a relationship between two boys, or a relationship between two girls.
There’s a small TTRPG supplement, and right besides it there’s three different manga from Onsen Musume. one of them is called “I’m a God but I wanna become an idol” by the way.
There’s the Oniichan Dakedo Ai Sae Areba Kankenaiyo ne? Manga. I also have the light novel around. You know I like it because it pulls the “not blood related” bullshit and I still continued to go through it.
There’s the Megaman 1&2 manga, and then there’s The Men That Created Gundam AKA Gundam Sousei which I fully, URGENTLY recommend.
There’s a porn novel at the bottom but the last one is… get this: An Isekai story where Terry Bogard gets transported to a feudal Japan full of demons, illustrated by KEN ISHIKAWA OF GETTER ROBO FAME.

I feel like every collection must have those things where you keep it around more for reverence than simple “liking” and I have a few of those but Garasu no Kamen is my “classic ass shoujo manga” pick.
…have you ever thought about just how autism-coded shoujo protagonists are? I think the fact that Garasu no Kamen has “unmasking” or “putting on the mask” (for acting) made me realize that.
Nakano Boogie-woogie is a neat story set in Nakano Broadway about an artist girl that encounters a strange alien creature. It’s pretty mundane, the creature is there to shake things up with mischief.
Chouja Reideen manga because of course I’m gonna have a Chouja Reideen manga, I am commited to the bit.
Station Memories: The Report from Miroku’s Master is a neat introduction to the fiction that Station Memories sells, but nothing too crazy otherwise. Kinda like Onsen Musume in a way.
Destiny Child Manga and Soukou Musume manga because the only thing I love more than ancillary media for mobile games is ancillary media for FAILED mobile games.
Neko Youkai is a neat compilation of twitter comics about cats with youkai qualities, really fun.
The Dog of Succubus Academy is very self-explanatory. It’s not particularly funny or anything but the artstyle makes up for the rest.
And another orphaned Wild Arms 3 piece of ancillary media because finding extra volumes is shockingly tricky.

By this point my mood was on the ground, completely tanked to be honest. We’re talking “don’t really feel like getting out of bed but I must drag myself out” sort of mood, but miraculously, an airsoft gun I ordered like 2 days ago arrived RIGHT THEN AND THERE and cheered me up a little.
I do have a small collection of them, I saw the cases while sorting the room and figured I hadn’t gotten a new in a while and this white one was too striking to say no.

Airsoft gun made me think I should try the airsof cafe in Nipponbashi and then I realized that I should try going out for a bit if nothing else.
It was a nice walk all in all, I got a couple of doll wigs.

I was gonna try the cafe but I saw “it’s 500 yen if you bring your own gun” and I was like “oh damn I’ll be back, then”.
By the end between the gun, going out, and chatting with some friends my mood did improve so I didn’t go to bed with a foul mood.

I also finished Rise of Endymion (and by extension the Hyperion Cantos) so here’s my review:
RAOUL SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK.
