The sleep debt continues to be paid.
The timing of today’s reading is super fitting, as it’s talking about how I’m not being held back by the same stuff I did in the past anymore and I should embrace that new beginning… with a mind to the money spent.

Slept like a motherfucker to the point that it’s dawning on me how sleep-deprived I’ve been lately in general. Not severe mind you, but the kind where I only sleep 6 hours one too many days in a row.
Oh and the silly stunt from yesterday too.
I was of the mind of using the Drone for stuff today so I brought out the controller and the app had a bit about how I should register the drone.
Long story short, in Japan you gotta register your drone so that all authorities know what the radio-emitting thingy is and who it belongs to. That’s fair enough but I didn’t do it before because I didn’t get a warning before, so I’m guessing either the drone I used back then was a different category or Okinawa has different regulations or something.
Believe you me, I would’ve noticed the warning before.
So anyways, I start planning my day and I start that process. It was kinda cumbersome because I forgot my My Number Card’s password which was needed to finish the thing. Spoilers: later in the day I paid a cab to go to a conbini and change that in the multicopy machine, but I remembered my password while on the way.

I also tried to get a shaving razor since I sorta kinda can’t stand my beard right now but for some reason there were none? I’m suspecting all the shaved head ojiisans I’ve seen in the island have them hoarded.
By the way, there’s another difference in mood this trip right there. I took a cab to a conbini a few times and every time the driver was like “want me to wait and take you back?” Last time the driver didn’t do that despite being low season and in the middle of the night.
Anyway, I walked around refreshing some other familiar spots in my mind. It was fun but MAN the weather is insanely humid.

I forget what I was doing exactly but I figured I should make a reservation for dinner. I wanted to go to the sushi course place I went to last time I was here but sadly they had no reservations for today… they had for TOMORROW though which was even better.
I took the chance to make other dinner reservations. My last night here will be dinner at a Tempura place and I wanted to reserve the Yakiniku place I went to last time that does charcoal yakiniku but the earliest reservation possible was FOR THE 31ST.

I also went and finally caught a photo of Heart Rock, which I couldn’t do last time because the tide was too high.
The two biggest highlights of the day were food-related.

The first is Habushu. Basically it’s high proof alcohol with a Habu snake inside. The flask is gnarly and the food court I was in had shots of it for sale.
I mainly drink cocktails so my experience with straight booze is relatively limited, but the best way I can explain it is that it tasted like Tequila that’s just as strong but less punchy. The flavor was also shockingly mild and kinda… medicinal? It’s not what I expected from it but it was nice.
The other highlight is that a shop sells spare ribs.

I love spare ribs, that would be a hihglight of its own, but also THEY GIVE YOU VINYL GLOVES TO EAT IT GOD BLESS THESE GENIUSES.
